antminer s7-LN

Kano pool

How to hide the miner? Good luck. They generate a shit ton of heat even if you just have one. If you have a desk by a window and can block the view of the window you can exhaust the heat outside. You're going to need some flex ducting and a vent fan (all in same section at home depot). Put the miner in an inconspicuous container (wooden filing cabinet) and drill very small holes in the front for air intake and a circular hole at the back for exhausting. Point a small fan at the front of the cabinet where the small holes are.

You also have to turn off the beeping noise that comes on when the internet connection drops or if the unit overheats. I'll let you google that.

Even if you do all this (and I'm doing it, running a few miners in a drawer) you're better off just buying bitcoin than trying to mine.

lets run the CERN's GPU to mine Bitcoin. We could do it for 10 minutes, which will net us 1 block or 12.5 Bitcoins. 12.5 X 6.5 = $81,150 .

If you dont want to bet on a coin, run nicehash. Instead of mining in a pool, people pay you in btc to utilize the algo which your videocard is most efficient in. One click miner too

Has anyone considered renting a virtual private server with high CPU availability to mine?

You don't pay electricity but you have the costs of the server.

Is the margin on this razor thin?

Don't do it at work.

Go outside and look for hidden public power sockets with open wifi. Or power installations where you can secretly install your miner. I now a shitload of such possibilities where I live (swissland).

This way you can get legally punished but you will not loose your job.
