it's one of a few things, in order of popularity:

collection of addresses that can then be linked to 4chan and marked as "user addresses" for blockchain analysis firms, and AML purposes, etc.

then for coins like ethereum there are tokens stored at those addresses, you can get an idea of what /biz/ is holding (at least the people who are begging), might be useful for trade analysis, probably not.

and then there are people looking to find addresses to target for spamming purposes, airdrops of coins to get people talking about them so the creator can dump, etc.

Perhaps to measure the growth of holdings, in those addresses, over time.

That could be an important base measurement for the beginnings of many different types of analysis on "how crypto is going".
