So, I've fucked up and sent a bunch of Modum to my HITBTC eth wallet. I was trying to send them to my MEW wallet, but I accidentally copied the address in my latest transaction.

I've opened a support ticket and provided the transaction.

Has anyone experienced this before and knows how long it usually takes for them to reverse the transaction?

Next time make sure you check before you send. I always ctrl + f to make sure the addresses match on both tabs.

It's okay, those were gonna be new bags you were never gonna sell anyways.

Yeah... no.

It's entirely reversible.

Believe me, I will. I'll check like a fucking hawk when I go to send my MOD to my main wallet.

LOL

If it were any other exchange I would say you have a decent chance of recovery.

HITBTC not a chance in hell.

You didn't send a lot did you?

Yeah, I've learnt my lesson now. As soon as I get my MOD back, I'm gonna look after it like a caring mother :^)

I don't think you know how crypto currency works.

>he thinks he's getting his random ETH token back from a shithole exchange like HitBTC

lol, should we tell him?

>> No.4083971

>>4083947
do you? his token is sitting on that wallet and can easily be sent back to him

>> No.4083986

And I don't think you know how ETH works. They have a policy in place for when you send tokens to the incorrect ETH address. They have the private keys for all addresses created, so are able to reverse transactions. What they can't do is reverse transactions sent to addresses OUTSIDE of HITBTC, because obviously, they don't have the private key.

Maybe it's you who needs to do their homework.

you won't get it back retard LOL

there's nothing you can do about it either. you ca go cry on reddit but no one gives a fuck and hitbtc won't care.

Got a reply! They're handling the reversal of the transaction now! WEW! Crisis averted!

>> No.4084055

It'll be ok OP. You're the customer here. Just tell HITBTC that you want them to roll back the blockchain.

If the wallet is ETH then it should allow mod technically.
It's not that you sent btc to eth.
They should receive it. Update us and tell us if they give it back.

>>4084036
Oh that's nice
Yeah as I said before as long as the wallet is eth they should receive it no problem.
Hitbtc rules :)
