i tried to "mine" bitcoinereum (btcm) using geth and then after one hour of trying to set it up, my macbook froze somehow, or it won't show me options anymore.
is it possible that i have been cucked? was the script that i ran through geth malicious for my mac os?

as a safety measure i turned off wifi, tried to kill every process (only terminal won't close somehow) and i don't want to risk losing all my data now because of a reboot.

what can i possibly do now (other than kms)?

Ya id try to help you but macs are for 12 year old girls.

You tried to "setup yourself" did that involve a software download?

I don't geth was malicious you just used up all your memory

hmmm I wonder if this whole burn geth to get what the fuck ever it is... is just a plan to steal your ethereum? couldn't be right?

Can't help you if you're on a Mac. But no, you 100% did not geth something malicious through geth.

this sounds plausible. i haven't turned it off for the past 19 hours and have been running a vm before and other memory eating stuff.

>>4081494
yeah i want to have a thinkpad additionally, will need to save up some bucks or hopefully my link bags will be worth something soon..
i only downloaded geth from the ethereum web page: geth.ethereum.org
and then i used command lines for the rest i got from the bitcoinereum page and from the ethereum github page

i purposefully created a new wallet with a new passphrase and sent only a dollar worth of eth to it to try it out

well you never know i guess.. even if it turns out that nothing severe has happened, i'll back off from this fucking console/terminal and coding, as i actually didn't know what i was doing with a 100% certainty

Well, you can run the miner in a VM anyway. can't you? So you can avoid this problem quite easily. If the VM doesn't respond you can just kill it. I do this myself with the shitcoins I stake so they don't hog all the CPU

Geth is trash, it needs SSDs in raid 0 to work well.

yeah, true. i wasn't careful enough, now i know better.

would you please take a look at my email app - i didn't black out that part, this has been done by the os. it looks really fishy to me

even if i only synched as a light node? as a full node i can imagine that, for sure

i managed to kill the terminal process, finally.
it then automatically logged me out and everything's back to normal - for now at least.
thanks guys
