4057740 No.4057740 [Reply] [Original]

I'm 21 and put my life savings into Ethereum (ETH) at $9.00 in February.

This cost me $26,100 at the time.

Now that I've made more than I ever thought I'd have by this stage what do I do?

Should I diversify? Keep holding? What would you guys do?

Hope to get some good ideas. I worked very hard since 15 to get to where I am now and I feel like I've not done enough planning on how to actually use the money I've made at this point

depends on what you feel like personally, no one here is qualified to give you investment advice. As of immediately rn you have like 4 options
>1 hodl eth through this fork and potentially lose profit
>2 buy bitcoin for this fork and potentially make a great amount to sell back into eth
>3 risk money on alts, frankly i think you are in a good position and dont need to throw too much into it. if anything omg/ark/kmd would be a safe bet for the future
>4 take out half or so and work on non crypto assets if you are worried about the market kabooming

you could also take a similar budget and use it to start investing in stocks and bonds, but fuck that, its the digital gold rush

day trading isnt really in scope for you unless you buy in smaller numbers to avoid creating walls. That being said looking at coins with promising future could be a great idea, especially if proof of stake happens, then you will make new coins instead of just %gains.

I've only made 500k so far profit from crypto. Majority in BTC and a couple in a few other promising alts. Unfortunately my country has CGT so I'd rather ride out the profit to a few mil first.

Regardless, I'd look at putting 80-90% of your funds in a low risk investment. Get like 3-5% return yearly. Security of financial independence is easily gained this way. (thats what I do, guaranteed income is stupid not to miss out on)

It's not necessarily just about living there, it's yours, no matter what. Property is generally something people increase and increase, it's a fairly safe investment (more people living = more demand for houses, simple).

Even if you buy like a $500k or so house (in Australia that's not much, but if you're American it seems like that can get you a pretty nice house), and use the rest. Either way, well done anon, as long as you don't fuck up bad (and I doubt you will), you're life has become much, much easier.

Keep holding the vast majority of your ETH. We are barely at the beginning here. Wait until the Casper update, that will be a game changer and ETH may not have any significant movements until then. The reason is Casper will introduce staking, and by then ETH's scaling abilities will be exponentially better. This means you'll be able to stake a large amount of ETH and generate a passive income that retire you for good. Beside that, once Casper is introduced the value of Ethereum will skyrocket.

You should maybe take a tiny amount and diversify it into normie world holdings like a bit of real estate in a beautiful place like the south of italy, greece, south of spain, where real estate is cheap and you can AirBnB it for more passive income.

The smart answer would be to keep investing in ethereum and crypto. Put no more than 250$ in each and every coin on Cryptopia and Etherdelta
Then use PoStake coins to get more returns on your money rather than buying rigs.

Personally what I would do? I'm so pissed off at being a bad trader chasing and missing moon missions that I'd honestly take my 800k and fuck off with it in a real world business.

Online websites(4chan, Instagram), funding a book, funding a video game(Candy Crush, Minecraft, Runescape), funding a cartoon show and comic book and various music artists.
Or I'd start my own ICO in crypto.
Or bee keeping, truffle farming with a sniffer, some hipster idea on Kickstarter like the fidget spinner or lol so randumb idea such as Cyanide and Happiness and exploding kittens card game.

But I'm so fucking angry that I can only make serious money via trading and holding that I'd stop immediately and do anything else for money.
Fuck trading. It's nerve wrecking.

Don't know where OP lives.

If you want to go back to school then take out enough cash for 4 years and university. You're also in a situation where getting a phd isn't a bad idea since you have a lot of disposable income you could live off.

If you know where you want to live, take out enough money to buy a house and pay cash. I know they say that putting your money into a house yields less than putting it in an index fund but you can't guarantee you'll get the same sort of returns in the future, while a house to live in is a hard commodity that has value for you. For one you can pretty much get rid of most of your bills(you'd only pay utilities).

If you want to stay in crypto I'd advise you to look into diversifying after metropolis is in full gear. I suspect eth will go to atleast 500. Put 50% of your stack into BTC and either keep the rest in ETH or put some in XMR/XRP/LTC. Realistically I'd go BTC/ETH/XMR though.

You'll want to look into taking a good portion of your holdings out of crypto next year. This gravy train isn't going to last forever my friend. When you do, put some money into the stock market through vanguard index funds or purchase rental properties, or do both and diversify.
