There will be some temporary rise in ALT's as people will FOMO at the Alt prices. However people may be able to empty their currents bags in hopes of buying into Sx2 so I doubt you'll see much down or up initially. Something around 50% continue holding on for Sx2, 25% Buy Alt's 25% Sell Alt's... Then it'll continue to rise quickly for the fork!

You are partially correct - there will be no huge dump, there will only be a small pullback, however you're also incorrect for 2 reasons:

1. BTG is total garbage and people will realize exiting alts at 30%-50% losses for this air drop money grab that wont outperform the alt market reentry premium will take this painful memory into Segwit2x

2. The current BTC chain will have zero benefit over the 2X fork upgrade.
