It also seems to have had a decent amount of issues with wallets not syncing/getting stuck on the same block for hours upon hours. Also, from the bitcointalk thread: "The biggest problem with URO is that it's basically handing all the block rewards over to a couple of anonymous miners with between 500 and 1000 graphics cards each."

This is as fair a launch on /biz/. The network is only 24 hours old and there is still 20 days left on the PoW phase.

We are helping people get up and mining in that thread and paying for bizcoin that people mine and want to sell.

Using a processor on your computer to solve math problems generated by the coin's network, and thus getting rewarded with those same coins for solving said math problems.

However, if you're looking to trade only, the only thing you really need to know is that when a coin is PoW (Proof of Work), it means people are still in the process of mining it. When a coin is PoS (Proof of Stake) people are getting coins by holding onto them. When a coin switches from PoW to PoS, expect a big price drop while all miners are selling their coins for BTC, and expect a big price surge shortly afterwards while all stakers are buying up as much as they can for as little as they can to hold onto and thus generate more.

In other words: You're smart.

All of the coins that are worth having money in right now, IMO, are the same coins that were worth having money in for the past several days.

BURN, CLOAK, VRC, RZR, VOOT, GUE all look to be doing alright; but not any major movement in either direction (except for a reent bump upwards for VRC) and most certainly not at a price where "get in now" in a no-brainer.

However, I do think VOOT will do very well in the upcoming week or two, so I bought 1,000 @ ~700 sat, and set a bunch of low buy-orders on all the others I mentioned just to try and grab a little on a dip.

WKC seems to have good press, but I think it's too new/volatile to buy in at the asking price right now. However, if you feel like taking some risks, it may be worth it in the long-term.

CLOAK and BURN I am very, very confident with. If you don't have much, or any, of either, I'd say set buy orders for CLOAK and BURN at 45-47k and 18-20k, respectively for maximum profit. If you have a lot of spare BTC to invest and have no plans on selling any time in the very-near future (i.e. you have no issue holding for a month or more), go ahead and grab some CLOAK, BURN, XMR, and RZR at their current rates and don't sell for awhile.

Take a coin that's middle-of-the-road in volume and somewhat low in price, set a sell order for 50% less than the current bid, and sell 100 BTC-worth of that coin in one instant trade, and you will absolutely crash the market.

100 BTC orders of something like VRC or BURN obviously would be nothing more than a drip in the bucket, of course, but some alt that's trading outside of the Top 30 in volume and for under 1000 sat? More than enough.

Panic selling isn't something one should ever due just out of pure panic. If there's widespread FUD, the entire market is in a state of panic, and it's clear that the coin has a very decent chance of plummeting, of course selling would be wise - but that's not panic selling on your part.

A lot of newbies will purchase a coin while it's going up, and sell off everything just because someone met 1 low buy order, causing a brief and small dip in the posted price. In order to succeed in the marketplace at ALL, that urge to bail at the first sign of red ink needs to be put to rest. I'm sure you agree with that too, friend.

by all means just buying and holding bitcoin at those levels is fine but if you're trading for money (the only logical reason to trade) you need more than that

the barriers to entry are a lot lower than trading anything else really, but even crypto trading takes some upfront capital

even if you go all in on something your first day and it goes up 20% in an hour you made $6. don't you want to make more than $6?

>> No.392205

In all honesty I think 0.05 is a very good amount to start with. Especially if he has little to no experience with daytrading.

If he loses 0.05 it's not devastating at all, and he learned some valuable lessons and do's/dont's along the way. If he does well, he can turn that 0.05 into 0.1. From there, .1 to .5 and from there anything goes.

I first started with 0.01, screwed myself over and got down to 0.006, played it safe, got myself to 0.016, put 0.01 back into my personal wallet to repay the initial capital I pulled out of it, and from that point proceeded to turn 0.006 into 1.6 BTC.

Now whenever I accumulate 1+ BTC, I pull 1.0 out of the exchange and trade with the 0.XXXX leftover decimals until I hit 1.XXXX BTC, pull 1.0 out, rinse and repeat.

Yet another coin that tries to cater to miners and doesn't care about an actual user.
Useless.

People need to stop developing coins for miners who will just dump them and start developing coins for people who will actually use them.
People who just want to buy not so legal shit on the internets without getting caught, who couldn't give less shit about a coin's hashing algo or distribution scheme. That's your target group.

Miners shouldn't be your target group when developing a coin, they are a necessary evil, nothing more.
And don't give me bullshit about hurr durr needing miners to secure network. Miners need you just as much as you need them.
Make a coin successful with the end user and miners will have no choice but to come, because it will be the most profitable coin to mine.

What's everyone's picks for this upcoming week/the next couple days?

Market seems a bit stagnant at the moment, as does any real major news surrounding any new developments or releases.

In case anyone else is feeling the same, here's what I'm currently holding and why:

>VOOT
Darksend features shaping up well, was at a constant 600-800 satoshi for a long time, including while I bought in. Active community and developers along with a hype train that seems likely to push it upwards of 2k sat relatively soon.

>BURN
As of a half hour ago, my biggest bag. Bought in plenty at ~17k and sold most of it during the last ~30k pump. However, it's going to Poloniex tomorrow and Twitter can't shut up about it, thus the hype train is well on its way. Bought a massive amount at 20k during a minor dip today and it's already up around 23k. Very likely to see it push 30k-ish once again by this time tomorrow.

>MIN
Bought in at ~1.7k, sold half at 2.7k. Holding half of what I initially bought as the E-sport gambling hype should cause a very measurable jump in price mid-week, although setting my sell order at 4k because although it may very well surpass 4k, I'm bracing for a crash once everything goes live and there's no big news for some time afterwards. Better safe than sorry.

>CLOAK
Been steadily on the rise since dropping to ~40k, new developments in the works and it could very well see 75k again if not higher at some point in the very near future. Not buying in any further unless it takes a dive back to sub-40k again, though.

>BBL
"First of the X15 Coins" self-proclamation. Has next to 0 twitter hype, and from what I can tell no hype on the BTC talk threads either. Incredibly risky gamble as far as I can tell, but I bought a measly little amount (only 10) just to take a chance and see what happens.

Small percent in CINNI for potential hype.

You can bet these guys will make more sustainable money on this mining concept then dumping. Fuck they'll probably pump the coin to get more people to mine.

I'm still relatively new to the game. >My advice: never sell EVERYTHING. Keep a little after your profit in case of unexpected moonshots.
Ding ding ding. For something like BTC, sell when you realize there is a bubble, but only about 75% of your holdings. Usually you'll be able to buy back a fair amount of what of what you ended up selling. Maybe only a quarter of what you sold but in the end, having 4.5btc instead of 3.5btc come the next bubble will make a huge difference. And this goes for any investment, only close a position fully if you are prepared to walk away from any future gains.

doge is dead since the last reward halving.

litecoin and bitcoin are back in the spotlight

darkcoin is going down as buyers are moving back to btc as btc is staying above 550 now for 30 days.

The next trend is proof of stake in crypto, look to vericoin, price has tripled in 30 days and is low cost to get in for a buy.
