The BTC fork will be ugly.

There are not enough miners on the face of the planet to mine two bitcoin chains.

Both bitcoin and Bitcoin 2x will need to get 2016 blocks mined at the difficulty level that bitcoin will have before the fork.

If price balances enough between the bitcoins, or a large portion of the miners are stubborn and continue to mine the uneconomical chain then both chains will see slower mining times clogging the network.

The alternatives are small, not all exchanges have bitcoin cash and bitcoin cash also has disruptions sometimes and will be sweped into the mining war.

Litecoin has scrypt and will therefore be unaffected. I see a perfect storm brewing.
