I'd like to buy some silver bullion (more for aesthetic purposes rather than an investment, I like the idea of having a stack of silver).

What do I need to know before I buy? Where are the best places to buy from?

Pic related: I definitely want a Credit Suisse bar.

If it's for aesthetic purposes then just get whatever you think looks good.

But the little one ounce bars are so cute :3

Also is there any point in checking out local coin shops, or will the best prices almost always be online?

I got a gold one, it's cute as fuck. Not from Credit Suisse though, it's from a random swiss bank my family has an account in.

If I want a nice size bar of silver, should I be looking at 10oz? I want something that looks nice and I can hold comfortably.

10oz will fit in the palm of your hand. A real bar, like you see in the movies, would be 100oz an up.

Good delivery bars are 1000ozt. They aren't really suitable for individuals.

1 and 10ozt are the most common sizes that people buy.
