A steady (stagnant) economy is one of innovation 0, if, for example, we stagnated in 1900, air would be impossible to breath and people would die at 50 in average.

In the post Baby-Boomer, post-modernist, central banking West, yes, life could be not unreasonably construed as a Ponzi scheme, but Capitalism presumes sound money, not fiat faggotry and spoiled Babby Boomers not giving a fuck about you.

However, before WWII or so it was more inter-generationally reciprocal and the family was the most fundamental and more influential force in one's life, and therefore society as a whole.

Then the Communists subverted integral structures of society, the academia, culture, the State, and eventually destabilized the Family. The Soviets could not defeat the Western hemisphere militarily, so they played a long con. The architects...not entirely unacquainted with a particular ethno-religion...of Marxism, Bolshevism, Communism, post modernism and other deleterious ideologies do their planning on multi-generational time scales, using language and media to masterfully subvert the fragile and precarious constructs which together constitute Western Civilization. The Baby Boomers succumb to the propaganda, and Generation X fared no better. When 2 consecutive generations are subverted, your entire civilization is already effectively dead. What we see now is only the bloating and rot, with the maggots and vermin having their fill.

Now we are left with a massive and dubious debt, no stake in society whether financial or genetic, and we are given shallow simulations of human experiences, such as porn in lieu of sex (or for the lucky minority, actual sex with no long term pair bonding or hope of a stable marriage and family), video games in a dark room in lieu of free play in the light of the sun. These experiences increasingly foreign to us now, but which are part of our very being. We are ancient creatures.

The virtual has supplanted the visceral. Witness the techno-metadeath of the greatest civilization in the known history of the world.

Glad you "don't mind" what allows us to live up until our 90s and pursue dreams beyond hunting and gathering fruit.

First of all, not many economies are growing, and the rate of growth in purchasing power is laughable.

Politicians, in their eternal goal to have good numbers, are forcing people to spend their savings and boost the economy, this leads to less savings, and without savings we're more dependent on debt in order to acquire productive improvements that make us grow.

What we need to question is what is preventing us from saving, and that is inflation and taxes.

Central bank forced inflation and taxes are killing Capitalism slowly but steadily, are turning us into societies of consumption where liquidity goes towards goods of consumption instead of goods of productive improvement.

Capitalism is simply human behavior, fueled by human dreams, but what we have now is so far from Capitalism, it's the arrogant attempt of politicians to force humans to engage in unnecessary economic pursues in order to boost their numbers to get reelected.
