I kind of get how to buy this token, but how exactly do you sell it? DO you sell it for BTC? wouldnt your money lower if BTC falls?

you buy it for BTC and sell it for BTC.

thats the simplest way to think about it. as long as you sell for more BTC then you are gucci.

the USDBTC pair is another layer of complexity that may or may not be relevant.

That's what I assumed. But I figure the flucuation in BTC to USD would change your profits as well.

when you get more experience with crypto you'll learn that most people measure their losses/gains in BTC and not $USD for the exact reason you specified.

It took me awhile to figure it out as well when I was starting.

For example you might buy a coin for $1 each, and you look later and see it's up to $1.12 so you think "oh wow I just made 12% profits!" when in reality the only reason it went up in price is because BTC went up in price and it essentially "pulled up" that coins price with it, so if BTC were to dip/crash, that coin would dip/crash simultaneously - so it's not really an organic price move for that particular coin at all, it's just that it's tied to BTC.

Most people measure in a fraction of BTC called "satoshi" or "sats" so if someone says "I bought it at 2005 sats!" that's 0.00002005 of a BTC, and then if they sell it for 4005 sats (or 0.00004005 of a BTC) they basically 2x'd their investment in relation to BTC holdings.

Basically learn to stop caring about your $ profits and start caring about your BTC profits. If you can't do that you're going to have a bad time in the long term. Also never invest with money you can't afford to lose. If you put $100 in ELIX be prepared to lose it all and not be too upset if you do - it happens from time to time.

The only reason I have trouble believing this will hit 1$ in the short term is the genesis pair mining system, which will essentially cause the total supply to be inflated at every price milestone as early adopters cash out.

In the long term though, the quicker the supply increases the better, as it will ultimately result in a lower final max supply.

>> No.3703494

>>3702422
It does, but it’s all gravy on a $100 investment. Obviously if you trade back into BTC while it’s on a bull run, you’re not getting a great exchange rate. You can hodl till BTC takes a dip. Doesn’t really matter as long as you’re accumulating more BTC, which should continue it’s trajectory upward over time.

That I don’t know anon. I’m not sure what the mechanism is for converting BTC and ETH for Australian $ but it certainly exists. Maybe create a post here and some dingo with more experience can help you. In the interim, leaving your profits in BTC is pretty safe, although there are big swings from time to time. In the long run, I don’t see BTC being worth nothing, quite the opposite actually. But leaving your profits in an alt-coin long term is probably a bad idea unless new info comes to light.

>> No.3703597

keep the converted btc in wallet or exchange you reckon? Probably will make a post later on, 4am not the best time for Aus

>> No.3703637

It depends on how much active trading vs. hodling you’re doing. Once your stack is bigger, it’s safer to move it to a wallet and just trade with whatever you don’t want to bank at the moment. I like to gamble on house money so I tend to keep track of my initial capital investment and pull it back into USD.

>> No.3703869

>>3703232
you can of course leave any of your crypto on an exchange but by doing so you're basically putting complete faith in that exchange to be there in the future or to not run away with your coins/money. It's not a common thing but has happened before (google MtGox history, that was the most famous example)

Also make sure you enable Two Factor Authentication (2FA) on the exchange which requires you to download the Google Authenticator App on your phone. It then requires you to enter your 6-digit random/changing code from the phone app in order to login to your Exchange account (make sure to write down the override code you get when you enable 2FA on the website in case you lose your phone) which offers you some protection against hackers who might somehow obtain your username/password.

Overall these aren't huge concerns if you're dealing with small amounts of money, but good practice regardless especially if you eventually plan to scale up and invest more later.

Ultimately a wallet is safer than an exchange though, but for small amounts it's fine to leave on exchange.

is coinbase where you signed up, verified your account/identity, and made your initial deposit? then yes, you do exactly as you said, sell your ELIX for BTC, transfer BTC to your coinbase account, sell for $USD and then withdraw to your bank account or whichever method you select.

>> No.3704082

>>3703352

>> No.3704114

>>3704020
don't think there's too much info about the team but the product does seem legit. If you go to
coinmarketcap dot com and find ELIX you can find links to their website, and the announcements page on bitcointalk to see more about the product. They just released a demo video the other day, which I think is part of why we're seeing this big price bump. They also outline their roadmap with product release dates.

I don't know if a major dip is coming honestly, this coin has mooned for basically two days straight, it was like $0.05 a few days ago, now its $0.177 and rising. Seems to be a lot of interest, it might hit $0.25-0.30 soon at this rate, and eventually $0.50-$1

I've been saying it all along but with such a low market cap and circulating supply, it really won't take much interest for this coin to rocket up in price extremely fast. Of course we can never be 100% sure what will happen

>> No.3704206
