Put a 2 mill in some fund that might make me ~5%% interest a year.

Use 500k to pursue my biz ideas.
Keep 500k in da bank.
Use 500k, if that, to buy things I want.

Live modestly off interest if possible.

No, no I really wouldn't. I've tested the edges of my own consumption, and I just don't care. I'd have more enjoyment sitting under a tree next to a creek/lake/river with a kindle than "living it up". I think my own personal Nirvana would be living in some 3rd world tropical paradise/hellhole and acting as a dive instructor in my spare time.

Property, probably.

There's a bunch of properties up North for ~£70-100K that could easily be let out for £550 a month.

So buy 35 houses.

~£230K a year income on them.

Take a £30K wage and just keep buying houses with the rest.

Create a huge property empire. As it grows, it'll be easier and easier to buy more houses per year.

Buy a single kilogram of physical gold. Purchase land and a house on the land. Give my mother $300,000 to recoup her losses sustained in the 2008 financial crisis (she is disabled and cannot work, so her only income comes from her lawsuit settlement. 10% of the remainder goes to the youngest in my family to pay for their college education. Another 10% goes into a bank account for personal use.

The rest goes into a stock portfolio that looks like this:

30% into PTTAX
30% into VMNVX
20% into hail mary stocks of various denominations (I like HYSR and AMCO)

I think I would use a million to start a software company or simply buy an existing one for some projects I've thought about.

I put another million in the stockmarket, bonds, plus some gold.

The $500K, I'd buy a $200K house and live off the $300K.

No one else gets fuck all time I make at least $10 million off my investments. I'll take them out to diner on occasion.

Invest 95% of it in high-stakes lobster racing tournaments

Immediately spend the remaining 5% on consuming my weight and the weight of two others in delicious food. If my initial investment pays off, I'll be able to live like a king. If it fails somehow, which is highly unlikely but you need to always plan for these things, I engorge myself again after taking a huge bank loan and kill myself on forced overconsumption of food.

Put it in a fund or something that nets me interest for a year until I graduate from college.

Travel for a few months.
Buy some beachfront property and build a beachhouse for myself. Build my own home gym, a spacious garage, have some project cars that I would work on, my own boat later on down the line.
Live it up frugally, maybe invest it in other things as time goes on. I've always wanted to own a club or something.

I just inherited a few million from my father. How can I turn this into a respectable $15 million or more

>> No.363040

At just 7% interest, that's well over $200 grand a year.

If you can't live extremely comfortably off that, you're a complete degenerate and need to be killed.

I'd put 3m in index funds and high dividend yield funds, then use the remaining 500k to buy a decent apartment in a nice city. Then I would never, ever work a day in my life again.
