they started working on masternodes and the beta version would need masternodes to work, if there are no bugs in Alpha, Beta would be quick

also, price didn't show any effect because of market sentiment, otherwise when they integrated tumblebit into breeze, that too on test net, the price jumped from ~ 6 to 9.5 $
