I have a question for those of you that know your business well. I manage my family's finances (Disability;Pension), and i make sure everything for them is paid for. But, at the end of the month, I usually have about $1000 free. We are also selling our house soon (yard is too big for my family to maintain + live in a flood zone) for somewhere around $50k-$75k. I was wanting to know what ideals you guys could throw at me to use this spare money to earn more back. I originally had ideas in currency exchange and perhaps CD's, because I don't really know about much else out there. Could you /biz/ self-made millionaires help a brother out?

You could buy a farm.

VFINX could also work.

I was also thinking about maybe moving out to Cali (or anywhere where marijuana is legal) and trying to either start a farm or start a shop. But i don't know much about owning and operating a business. 21yo here btw

Farming is a poor idea unless you have some sort of niche crop. The low margins and large amounts of capital you have to tie up in land / equipment / etc. just doesn't make it worthwhile otherwise.

Wealth is wasted on those who don't deserve it sometimes.

That's a stupid plan and you should feel stupid. Do you have any idea how many other 18 year olds are trying to do the same thing, and who are willing to do it without ever running a profit because they get to work with their favorite thing evarrr?

I wasn't wanting to open it because hurrdurr i getz da smoke, but because it's a new market in some places (aka if any new state finally passes), and it could have possibly went well. I get that it's really sought after but it was just an option.

Timberland is a lot less pricey.

Do you respect wood?

Would you leave a glass unattended on a wooden table without a coaster?

Depends on the table I suppose.

Eh, you do what you want.

California is expensive as hell though. Washington too. If you wanna do this go Colorado. Thank me later.

No, I'm not really all that into it. I was just looking into it as a viable option. But yeah, with cost of living, Colorado would probably be better.
