>be me
>In final year of university, getting engineering degree, with three summer internships
>Over 100k in student loans
>Didn't want to go to this school because of how expensive it was, but mom pressured me into it
>Mom tried to convince me not to do engineering, basically one of the only degrees that will help me pay off this debt
>Realize if I had listened to my mom and not become an engineer, I'd be even more fucked than I am now
>Regardless, don't want to be an engineer anymore, but still have to do it because of my debts

I don't know who's more retarded, my mom or me for listening to her in the first place

How the fuck did you get 100k in debt studying engineering?

Thats over $3,000 a fucking course.

You barely scratch that studying medicine.

It sounds like you were an idiot and went to a very expensive school when you had no real means of affording it.

>Aight sounds good
>Final year, realize my mom told me she would handle the finances cause she knew I would never have gone here if I saw how expensive everything was myself
>In final year, and don't really understand where all this money went because I never handled it

You gave her access to all of your school accounts? Did she register for classes for you as well?

Don't worry. You won't even get a job, so you can just file for the program that sets your loan payments to $0 since you don't make any money.

I already have offers for graduation for ~85k
I'd be happy about that if it weren't all going into my debt

Wowowow dude. You don't understand how student loans work, do you? First of all, the student loan people don't pay the school directly, they just dump like $25,000 into your account each year and you (or your mom I guess) are supposed to pay the school and if there's money left over you spend it on weed or go ahead and pay it back to the debt company to lower the principle.

Your mom probably just pocketed all the money that was in excess of tuition. You should ask to see a detailed breakdown of how she spent that money.

I wanted to go to a community college for two years, and then transfer to a state school for the final two. My friend did that, and he's doing just fine after graduation
