Hey /biz/,

I am 23 years old man that is studying textiles. Need some motivation and ideas to start.

Was thinking of working part time as a bartender and raising some capital before I get into real stuff.

What are your thoughts?

Sounds like a rough space to break into man. Bangladesh might have you beat. Your only available market segment might be ultra-luxuary. Rich people buy expensive things just because they can

Textiles isn't profitable unless you live out in rice land. Maybe look into embroidery? You get to put designs onto clothing and hats, plus machines do most of the work.
Your textiles knowledge won't go to waste either, being able to order or even design your clothing stock from overseas.

ha sorry man. just kidding. I think you should start a clothing line about 420 and market it heavily on Instagram. should be able to make 100k/yr in 5 years if you have good, lasting, non-obtuse designs.

Just start make something obviously something inside you desires to create something worthy of purchase. It might take years or months but start now and start by doing anything related to your passions. If you can bartend do it and instead of saving to buy crypto, save by buying crypto with at least 50% of your tips, instead of getting a coke habit. Keep studying textiles but try to specialize in a few areas, like precision fit, future materials and colors psychological effects on the average brain.

Your idea about saving will be kept as a memento. Coins seem legit these days.

Are there places you could be working that'd be more relevant to your interests in your area? My sister landed a part time graphics design job a full year before she completed her design program. If they are out there drop off the resumes. No guarantees but the experience and savings are worth the searching.

Thats actually good advice in general.

Unless the difference in pay is huge, its always best to be at a job thats on the path towards what you wanna do.

Bartendering will just be a sunday job. Around 80$ + tips, 15 hour job(morning, cca 9 to midnight)

Rest of the week would be nice to plan as a project for the bussiness with an exception for classes.

Getting my masters next year btw

Decent idea OP

I'm currently working in the ship yard as a hired man, they pay me 10 cents an hour and believe me ya can get a boat load of hooker poony with that hunk of change, with some leftover to spare to wash down their strawberry gash juice with a shot of my old friend Jack Daniel's at that
