will we see a bitcoin crash in october again like we did in july?

will there be #UASF nerds opposing the 2x chain?

I can see it fizzling out with companies slowly withdrawing, then they put it on hold indefinitely till they have more consensus. Honestly, core seems like a communist dictatorship at this point but idk if they can be beaten. If there really is a 2X with 95% of the hashrate, then core will definitely change POW and I think there will be a massive drop in both chains, not like bitcoin cash making money out of free air.

from my understanding the 2x segment of the new york agreement was to appease the miners right?

but now that jihan decided to fuck off with his Bcash, you think potentially we can avoid doing the 2x change at all? just segwit alone has been enough to solve the unconfirmed transaction backlogs lately, right??

im kind of a smoothbrain here so please share your thoughts

I'm not an expert but I try to be neutral between the sides. Some thoughts on the issue:

Bitcoin Cash does give big blockers everything they want except for the market cap of actual bitcoin. The main chain has lower transaction fees, but they're still too high to be easily used daily by businesses like Bitpay. It's clear that it will take many more months if not years for Segwit and LN to reduce on chain fees, but that's not it's purpose. I think Segwit is good thing in the long run, but an on-chain capacity increase was more of a side effect that was hyped as an on-chain short term solution so it left a lot of people bitter after it didn't immediately fix everything. A 2MB increase would make sense as a compromise to help people that transact in bitcoin every day, but core is against it and says the 2X developers are incompetent. Maybe core will increase the block size in the far future, but they aren't worried about the every day use of bitcoin and want there to be a competitive fee market.

Like I said above, I think Core will win out over the miners but nobody knows the future.

How likely is it that bitcoin cash prevails come post november? Asking for a friend

Doubt they'd prevail, but they might get a big pump. I don't think they're going away soon.

Same. Especially if no segwit2x goes . not only that but a lot of the exchanges are coming on board with fiat pairs
