Second, it is very easy for Chinese suppliers to affect the price of metals such as these. If the price of Molybdenum were to increase here, for example, the Chinese could just use their reserves to crash the market and push the price back down.

Chinese demand is what actually stayed the drop of metals in 2013. Plus China doesn't have the ability to flood the market with anything, since they are a consumer and not a producer.

Any commodities trader knows this. Hence why the heavy Chinese investment in South America and Northern Africa. They are trying to build an infrastructure to slowly reduce dependency on American and Austrailian metals.

You've admitted in past posts numerous times that you have no clue about how to actively invest, and you have no desire to, so you invest passively. Now you've proven it.

It's a shame you're (despite admitting numerous times to know nothing about how to actively invest) trying to trick Anons into buying a shit stock. The stock you just pushed has absolutely nothing positive about it now, nor in its ten year history. Literally EVERY criteria a part of judging a stock on in EVERY one of the last TEN YEARS (and more) of this company is in the red and in the negatives. It's worth NEGATIVE money per share. Could it go to $10 a share? Sure, possibly. But it's certainly not worth that much and not justified, and you might as well go to a casino with your money. For anyone wondering if they should ever take this tripfag seriously, see pic related. Be warned.

That seeking alpha article is a bit old, I think it is worth examining what kinds of speculators are watching this stock, why the market has valued it at $91 million despite some evidence valuing it as high as 10 times this and what events in the future we might need to look out for.

Just picked this up from the yahoo message boards

I remember guy was going to invest in general molly a while back. China is weird.

from the SEC filing

If it did drop to 0.85 again for no apparent reason then you could assume it was just some random investor pulling out and there will be a very quick market correction.

I remember someone in March 2013 who said he invested in China Armco Metals for much the same reasons, because it had gone down to a level of resistance and there was nothing fundamentally wrong with the company, it then went on a volatile downwards trend for months before it finally surged.

I'm not sure if I could hold, I'd rather just monitor the company for signs it is about to pick up and put my money somewhere else in the meantime. Since the price has now dropped from its average of 0.35 to 0.23 it might be time to look at it again actually.

My exist strat is to buy in and put in a limit stop in an acceptable loss area. That way I avoid the pitfall of bagholding.

Once the stock starts making profits I move my stop limit up depending on the percentages made.

IE: Buy stock at 1$ a share, I'll typically have a limit stop at 0.90$ a share (or a -10% loss). If the stock goes up to $1.10 then I'll move my limit stop up to my buy in, trailing to current price by around 10%.

Unless its a stock with crazy volatility you won't have to worry about your limit being tripped and you selling too early. And if a stock is dropping 10% in one day then you should most likely get out.

>> No.353871

>>353857
Typically, I stick to leveraged index funds, so your mileage may vary.

When I get in, I do so with the idea that the underlying will grind up for the foreseeable future, and then I look for indicators of reversal. A trailing stop is usually a good idea. It preserves profits while still letting you ride.

As for how well you are doing today, consider that we are having an up day and things are grinding higher, so your performance might have more to do with the overall market direction than your skill at picking winners.

Not that I know what you're putting in research-wise, but it's something to consider.

Its basically the "trend" in which a stock trades. Basically give you the range of possible buys/sells for day traders and the best possible buy for longs (based on today).

If you look at the photo I posted and todays chart you'll see GMO seemingly hit a "ceiling" at 1.03$ per share, and again at 1.06$ per share. These we 2 of the 4 resistance points of today. $1.09 is the next to knock down so GMO might trade in the range of $1.06-$1.09 until then.

If we break $1.06, then you can expect GMO to trade in the range of $1.03-$1.06 until it breaks above or below.

I'm going to need to make TDAmeritrade account.

I'm already capped at my 3 day trades per 5 working days with my eTrade account. I want to trade some more, so I'm thinking about opening a new account with a different brokerage to get around this SEC restriction.

Anyone have any experience doing this? Having multiple brokerages used to bypass these types of trading restrictions?

$10 bucks each way, right? eTrade has the same.

I'm sure its around the same price altogether. I just need to use another source to keep on trading beyond my 3 in-and-out limits.

I mean, does the SEC look into this shit at the end of the year regarding taxes? Will they totally fuck you in the ass if they find out you've been using 2 brokerages to get around this?

im 18, 11th grade in high school (stayed back in grade school), i also live in CR, i've been interested in stocks for quite some time now and from like 8 months ago i started looking up stock related stuff on weekends when im home, this whole last month i've researched about stocks alot. i said i was somewhat of a neet because even though i am in school, there are ongoing protests because about 8000 professors, off only 35k, have not gotten paid this whole year, they said that by tomorrow everything would be fixed and we would have classes again, but once again, a lot of professors didnt get paid, and the ones who did got like 5-15 dollars in there bank accounts, so the protests continue.

i've been making the best of this time by learning and getting experience on the /biz/ game, the first few days i was getting a lot of losses, now these few days ive made small gains.

i know penny stocks are very volatile but i live with my parents and they maintain me, so any money i made working in my summer vacation, i could use to trade without fear of losing it.

im almost certainly going to get an internship at the local bank this and next year because of school, so thats good

They'll find you and they'll shit in your mouth is what they'll do.

But seriously, they don't give a shit.

I'm more curious why you'd try and get around it with multiple accounts instead of just ponying up the 25k in to one account. Unless you're getting instant and free transfer times or something.

>> No.353978

>>353965
SEC doesn't do shit. If you get caught "free riding" then your broker is responsible for reprimanding you. You can always close your account and go elsewhere but you're going to run out of brokers haha.

Best thing to do is get 25K and then have a margin account. It's the only way you can day trade.

You should be busting your balls in school getting the best grades possible to get into a good college. You're not going to make any significant return off of money invested from a summer job.

>You should be busting your balls in school getting the best grades
being honest, im not going to be able to get a good college just from grades, ive been to much off a dumbass by going to alot off parties and shit.
what movies show as the USA college life, we live here in highschool, you can either be a great student, or have fun, i chose fun and now that im in my last 2 years, im starting to regret it.

>Doing what?
i think in the US high schools are a little different from here, here there are two types of high schools, academic (5 year) high school and professional technical high school (6 years).
in the professional technical, when you get to 10th grade you have to choose a trade to get specialized in, most people choose agriculture because its the easiest, i chose tech, we get to learn IT, Basic software development, Basic/intermediate data bases, and a lot of other stuff, by when i graduate im going to have 2 Cisco certifications ( i already have IT essentials so thats great), and a few other smaller titles.

to be able to get the diploma saying your specialized in whatever trade you chose, you need to do two small internships, one in 11th grade that last 1 week, and 1 in 12th grade, that last 3 months, this one is paid.

because of contacts i got into the bank, they said they would make me do IT stuff so that the school authorized it, but ive already talked with the manager so that he makes me do bank related stuff, i just want to get to learn the environment to see if i like it.
if i get the 3 month internship at the bank i will mostly likely get an offer to work at the bank after graduating, i would most likely take the job

It means you sell shares without actually owning them in hopes that the price drops and you can buy those shares you own for less than you initially sold them for, pocketing the difference.

It is the most basic of "how to make money off something when it is going down".

Thus, when someone says "short PRAN", they imply it will go down.

Of course, you can get really fucked up doing that to. If you sell 100 shares of PRAN at 2$, and the price rises to 10$, you have to buy those 100 shares at 10$, which is a net loss of 800$.

I train with my algorithms every day, this superior system can cut clean through losses because it is back tested over a thousand times, and is vastly superior to any other system on earth. I earned my series 7 and series 63 license two years ago, and I have been getting better every day.

I speak arb fluently, both Chicago and the Amex dialect, and I write fluently as well. I know everything about NYSE history and their Greed is Good code, which I follow 100%

When I get my high rise apartment, I am moving to New York to seek employment at Goldman Sachs to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become a floor trader or a derivatives writer!

I own several Armani suits, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to New York, so I can fit in easier. I snort cocaine and yell "I'm walkin here!" as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.

Wish me luck in The Big Apple!

I think what happened today is normal and what should be expected. No news has come out about GMO recently and it was a mildly down day in the markets, and this is a stock with a one year straight down-trend. Just by looking at that alone the price dropping well below $1 should be within reason.

can you guys tell me what after hours mean?

on marketwatch FB closed at 63.51 but after hours 63.50

i set a limit order for 63.50, do i now have to hope that it is still 63.50 when it opens tomorrow and after hours is meaningless or how do i have to interpret that?

>> No.355988

>>355983
You have to make the order specific to after-hours. I'm not even sure if all brokers allow you to interact in after-hours or pre-market by default. Anyway, after-hours ends at 8PM EST. To be completely honest, the only things that really matter are pre-market and the regular market hours.
