Bankcoin becomes PoS at the 8000 block in a couple days and there is talk of getting it on coinmarketcap soon. Once this happens with it's +107% gains, people will gravitate towards it because it has the most enticing room for growth.

It still might be a scam as many fearmongerers on Bitcointalk would have you believe. Personally I think the reason for their lack of transparency is just to keep people away a little longer so they can finalize the GUI wallet and the distribution of the "premine" through it.

Unfortunately even good coins can be released in such a manner that as a speculative investor you can't put your money in because the time it takes for you to make money back is too long. In the case of pre-mines where the devs and friends have a huge amounts of the total coinage in circulation it is scary knowing they can dump the price if it hits their target.

Coins that are great ideas but the devs premined: http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=a_massive_investigation_of_instamines_and_fastmines_for_the_top_alt_coins

Dark coin is on the list, bytecoin. etc.

The coins that show promise in the short term are right now:
Bank coin
Liberty Coin
Veri-Coin

Cure coin as previously stated is a good long term, I already put money in and don't really care if it ever comes out, I like the idea and I pretty much view it as a donation to the devs for an awesome idea.

Sync coin has the gimmick that only 1000 will ever be minted and capital coin is very early days with a fair release but most important a competent dev team.

>>340686
Not sure what to think of it at the moment, I like 0.5 price point and SYNC shows good volumes if it hits 0.5 I am hoppin aboard.

>> No.340701

Speculation goes as far as 5 BTC per SYNC in 1 week or so.

I'd get in now if I were you, I'm still mining it while I can in case this shit explodes.

>> No.340705

>>340686
Usually the "limited" coins like 42, 365coin etc. just drop in price once they land somewhere like mintpal. Big time miners just want to get rid of whatever they have, and the small time buyers are dumb enough to throw their money at coins like sync because "there's only a thousand of them!"

It works just like any other coin, only instead of sending 5 or 100 you're sending .0005 or some shit. Pointless if you ask me, unless you have enough adrenaline to keep up with every pump and dump shitcoin, in which case more power to you.

>> No.340709

>>340705

To be honest with you that's exactly my objective. Once it hits a "decent" exchange I'll just blow my load all over everyone independent of what the price is.

Hopefully it'll be 5 BTC per SYNC as I already have a hefty amount.

Wallet doesn't even have a GUI yet, but monero is the fairest cryptonote coin at the moment. DRK bubble will burst because its a scam and not truly anonymous. Monero distribution is similar to bitcoin, and every monero transaction is anonymous. The price is around $2 each, and there are less than 900k in circulation right now.

Once a GUI wallet releases and MRO lands on mintpal, you're going to see your new #4 on coinmarketcap.

I've been watching the sale books for the last few hours. The price is lower now than it's been since the rest of the evening, and it seems to be because the buys/sells tended to be in a relatively low amounts all day long (50-300 MAST) but within the last hour or so, coinciding with the price drop, sales have been in massive numbers for ridiculously low prices. I.e. 4000-6000 MAST at a time for literally tens of percentages less than the highest bidder.

My guess is that all those people who mined up until now are dumping like crazy for whatever amounts guarantee them selling off everything in their stock. Makes sense since PoW ends tomorrow and that'll be it for mining. Shame I hadn't waited until this inevitably happened though, since I'd have been able to buy in as low as it'll probably ever be again.

My advice is trying to invest relatively early in whatever coin is the flavour of the moment.
Lurk bitcointalk, /biz/, etc to get informations about that.
You can expect a 5x return on investment on average if you pick right.

Don't try to be smarter than the market, follow the trends, don't get too greedy and wait some days before selling, even if the price is a little down.

You'll have highs and lows. You'll get so greedy you'll think you're Buffet, and you'll get so desesperate you'll throw you money in whatever coin some retard is shilling in hope to make your money back.

Anyway, just try it yourself, that's the best way to learn.
Begin small, and risk more when you become more confident.

I just want to get in on whatever the hot new pump and dump scheme is.

Would it be illegal to conspire to inflate the value of a coin before dumping?

Seeing as how the market is completely unregulated I'd say it'd be impossible to prosecute, so; go nuts brah

You can try this, since nothing is regulated you'll probably be fine.

There was a guy like this, called Fontas. Every now and then he would buy some shitcoins, shill it on his twitter and on the BTC-e trollbox, and sell everything at the top.
One day he disappeared, his twitter deleted and some rumors of him getting caught by the FBI or whatever emerged.

I don't know if this is true, but know that even if you won't get in trouble from pumping and dumping, you'll get some with the fed because you'll be making a shitload of money that appeared out of nowhere, from their point of view.

MAST just took a dump, and it's back down to 19k after being pumped up well over 30k an hour ago.

Honestly if you haven't bought in already, now is a great time to do so. I bought in low, sold in the 25k range iirc, and now that it's dropped to 19k I'm seriously considering pumping all profits into it right now seeing as it will most likely cross 30k again in just a couple of hours.

It may very well cross 500k in the coming weeks. Shit will be nuts.

Just to present a counter point, I'm currently up ~$7000 by *not* investing in the flavour of the moment. Instead by genuinely seeing what coins appear to have something novel apart from a mining function and doing longer term (months) investment. (DRK and Doge)

I would never buy any coin just because the price was rising. If I research the coin, decide it has merit, *THEN* see that the price is rising.. That may be a good sign, depending on if its a mad bubble or not.

Currently I have MRO, DRK, ANC and will be holding them for several months at least

"Pump and dump"s don't benefit "big" players, only shillers. The big players are the one getting raped because they are buying everybody else's shitcoins and driving the price high.

Everybody will be dumping as soon as the price is getting too high, so it's suicidal for anyone with a lot of money to pump anything.

A little example, a guy named wolong shilled the fuck out of DOGE, saying he was rich as fuck and buying everything. I doubt he was, but some guy(s) took him seriously and began pumping the shit out of DOGE with a shitload of money.
Needless to say everybody dumped their coin as soon as the price went up (including me), and the big players/pumpers went crying to wolong.

Everybody has his strat I guess, I doubt I'd be willing to hold for more than a couple weeks.

I don't think cryptos other than bitcoin can be held for this long.

there's that word again.
I don't plan on owning MRO again because it's a straight copy-paste clone of BCN. At least BBR changes the mining algorithm and supposedly "fixes some bugs". BCN is probably going to null and void all the clones once the devs release their wallet.

Gotta ask though:

What makes you so inclined to believe it's still worth buying more?

How do you know that today's 24-Hour High isn't the highest it will have ever gotten? I ask because the question pertains moreso to over-all cryptocurrency trading rather than this one particular cryptocoin. I'm trying to learn as much about the market as possible from people like you guys who seem so sure about these things.

Thanks in advance.

>You hold your coins for months ?
Worked for me with BTC, Doge, DRK.

If I buy, it's for a while. I don't ever sell on drops. Sure, I've lost money (PND, GRC). But overall am up.

My main problem is I don't want to sell, ever. I've taken back my initial investment, now I'm just trying to build up a portfolio of several promising coins. (e.g. I made 1000% on DRK, then diversified that into MRO and ANC).

I mean, if anything happens with ANC it won't be for several months anyway. It's nice to buy early.

Still think DRK can go up further since it has momentum and active, well funded, devs. The recent rise probably gave the devs a lot of cash to play with.

Yah, if I lurked the alt coin forums all the time probably speculating on the more risky prospects might make me more. But I don't like to commit that much energy to this game.

MAST is a good pick because it has a low number of coins, a PoW/PoS model, and its still relatively unheard of with tons of room for growth. Its already trading 8th place on coinmarketcap in 24 hour volume. Miners are letting go of their coins cheap before PoW ends.

Basically, if you get in while it's still on bittrex/poloniex, there's a real good chance you'll make money if you follow the trends. Like how does the bitcointalk thread look, how's the trading volume, how is it doing on coinmarketcap, things like that. If you think it has the potential to go up, then take a risk and get in early. Unless the volume is in thousands of bitcoins, once it hits mintpal/cryptsy its usually all about dumping at that point.

I've gotten majorly burned on shitty coins before, but right now is just a great time for altcoins for some reason. People are into X11 coins now with less than 10mil total and featuring a PoW/PoS model.

/biz/ has made some good picks so far. Go with MAST and XC. Good luck.
