Why keep PND and DOGE alive?

Why not advocate for a cryptocurrency which actually has merits and fundamental ideals that have the potential to change society. Cryptonote or CUR for example?

I understand in the early days DOGE was beneficial in that it was a LTC clone that helped alot of people learn about cryptocurrencies because of it's origins and good natured community but that train left the station and crashed shortly after departure.

I am all for crypto's but what can DOGE or PND offer that will make me purchase today in hopes they will be useful tomorrow?
