Extra points if you can make it $20000 because the extra 10k would let me pay off all my college debt as well.

OP, have you tried searching indeed.com for various jobs at or near your location?

I too am trying to make some money without an official "job" -- I'm looking into things like drop shipping, affiliate marketing, SEO stuff, but it's harder than it all sounds. So perhaps look into some sort of ecommerce type deal?

What he means is that immigrants who have moved into his town will do jobs at a much lower income because they come from their shitty 3rd world countries, so these employers would much rather see some low-standard hispanic immigrant walk in looking for a job so that he can pay them less.
Not all employers will seek this and it depends on what type of jobs they are, however, it does make it a little less difficult.
While the majority of immigrants from the southern border go on welfare, still a good amount to perhaps make employment at a lower level job a little more difficult in towns where they come in at a high volume.
