Would you take half the money lump sum or the full amount spread over 30 years?

>> No.3107550

I wouldn't take anything since I don't play lotteries.
But I would take the lump sum though and put 90% in btc, obviuosly.

>> No.3107581

That's still going to be like $5 mil a year right? That's more than I'll ever need and I feel like it'd be easier to manage.

>> No.3107608

The lump is mathematically superior

>> No.3107615

Lump sum. Never let the government be your allowance giver. Besides, if you follow some very basic steps, you'll have plenty of funds for the rest of your life. All 3-7 years of it, statistically.

>> No.3107624

>>3107608
Due to inflation, if you don't take the lump sum, your money is worth less each year you receive the set amount.

I don't trust any state government will have money to give me in 30 years. At least with the lump sum I can use it to make more momey.

>> No.3107681

You get more money if you take the lump sum if you assume the average inflation rate over 30 years.

>> No.3107820

Anything could happen within those 30 years. Taking that option is stupid. You're basically "locked in". If the USD goes to shit, you won't be able to do anything about it. A lump sum gives you a huge advantage if you invest the money wisely.

>> No.3107960

>>3107581
If you're a stupid nigger who would blow all his money as soon as he gets it you could always turn it over the lump sum to an investment group/trust management company/annuity that would give you a monthly payout superior to what the lottery would give you.

>> No.3108005

spread over 30 years so they can invest it and not give me anything? so i lose it all to inflation? no thanks

Lump sum.

If you think the U.S or its dollar will exist in 30 years, you're an idiot.

FYI there is no "full amount." The lump sum is the "full amount." They take the pot, the lump sum, and multiple it by some interest rate for 30 years to jack the figure up for advertising.

If you take the payments, they just put the lump sum in bonds and pay you the interest. You may think, why would anyone choose that? You can just take the lump sum and do the same thing. That's why the winners don't, no one chooses that option because its retarded. Its purely so they can advertise a higher jackpot.

Here's one:
The odds of winning are the same if one person plays or if 100 million people play.

I'd take the lump sum. If it is this current jackpot of $324M that leaves me with $162M after tax. They only withhold 25% but I'll cut the check for the extra 25% and pay it straight away to avoid any interest penalties etc.

I'll take $5M to be retarded with, buying a house or 2 and some cars. DESU I can't imagine spending more than $3M ($2M house, $500k cars, $500k 2nd home)

Then I'll spread it over a bunch of conservative accounts, hoping for around 5% safe returns per year.

That'll bring me about $151,000 per month. I'd struggle to find purpose in life earning that kind of money.

But I also know 70% of lottery winners lose it all within the first few years so I'd seek out ways to block me from a big chunk of the money. Perhaps a mix of 5 and 10 year bonds so at a given time I only have 20% of my money 'liquid'

You think the banking cartels are going to retire?
World wars are fought over this shit.
I expect BTC to become mainstream accepted if they can lighten the network but it will always be a surrogate for USD. People are speculating on it for it's value in USD. It's impossible to regulate, it's too anonymous and it's backed by pure speculation.

Don't take me wrong, there is money to be taken.

bitcoin is far less anonymous than cash, it is a public ledger after all

What are they going to do? Start exterminating bitcoin users?

Until they aren't. Wait until the Saudi's start taking Yeun for oil. We'll be begging them to switch to crypto.

>What are they going to do? Start exterminating bitcoin users?
Well no but they are already freezing bank accounts here and outright banning it in other places.
I do believe it will be a feature of the future but I don't believe it will ever displace fiat.
Governments need to have some control over their economies and their money supply.
BTC has a purpose but it's not as a fiat currency.
In the future I see, I see cashless societies with government issued crypto.

Centralized blockchains aren't crypto, they are just databases.
