Growing pains. Their support is shit overall because they’re understaffed for the number of “problems” people have which exacerbates things, but if you look at what those problems are it’s people new to the platform who are annoyed they have to wait for their funds to clear. What’s funny is once you have enough crypto if you use coinbasepro they will literally front you $25k+/day. PER DAY. So the limits are just for poorfags to begin with.

Even their fiat withdrawal is fucked minimum 100usd and you gotta wait 5 business days. They just pump the price by burning coins and non promising projects. This, although kinda unrelated, my gf sells cellphone plans at a mall (actually has pretty decent commission rates), and 99% of her complaints and "problem customers" are boomers who don't remember their passwords, emails, got a new phone and forgot everything, etc. Like they literally don't know anything and can't figure out why she can't just get into their facebook account or email when they don't even remember what the email address is.

The idiots probably did something like moved their crypto to another wallet, and forgot every single aspect of their account recoveries, seedphrase, email used, any and all passwords associated with the account, no kyc, etc and coinbase is just ignoring them because once you address these fucking idiots, they don't let you go and give you the whole "the customer is always right!" line and try to talk to everyone's managers for 8 straight hours

I actually know the answer to this. Coinbase locks accounts when funds are received from/sent to illicit addresses (linked to scams, drugs, etc).
90% of those posts on reddit are because someone tried to buy weed online with their coinbase account and /biz/ just isn't that retarded.

Most account locks are due to bank or credit union panic.
Piece of advice: When you plan to withdraw, notify your bank right the fuck away. Schedule a meeting and let them know you're planning to move money to your account. Give an amount and let them know it might be higher or lesser due to fees.

That way you can avoid lockdowns.

My impression is that coinbase is actually attempting to be a legitimate company. So they have to deal with certain regulatory standards, these standards aren't too complicated so a regular person shouldn't have too much of an issue. Of course, people who are clearly trying to use coinbase in some likely illegal or complete retard activity find themselves getting fucked over so they bitch about this to unreasonable levels.

Would coinbase lock my funds if I tried to buy weed online with weed being legal where I live? I could just use a credit card from a legal online distributor, but I don't really know how the grey areas like this work, or what coinbase would do. For instance, for a while twitch was allowing you to smoke weed on stream if you could verify your prescription or state/country's legality, but now it's just pretty much b& no matter what on their platform

I'd bet anything that 99% of the complaints are from idiots who know nothing about crypto and nothing about the platform and have pocket change in their accounts. I've moved over a million dollars through CB and CB Pro over the years and have never had an issue.
