desu this conversation kind of inspired me to think that there are lots of car rental companies that could make a new startup that allows people the use of cars for long periods a lot like Air B&B.

People who want a car for a month can pay a rate and then give the car back. The interesting part is they can drive it wherever they want and then a computer would report where they drive, there is no giving the car back you simply drive it anywhere you like then it could be given to someone else nearby using advanced technology. You don't use lock and key you use electronic start with your smartphone.

Asking again: Will the SP500 rebalance in march be the final nail in the TSLA coffin?
It was included on Dec18, at around $650.
SP500 (and friends) is market cap weighted, and TSLAs market cap fell by a lot, while the rest of the index constituents did not.
This means when the rebalance is done, a shitton of shares will be sold on rebalance day (March 20) by boomer ETFs. Hedgies will of course frontrun and shortsell before this date, increasing the selloff.
ARK will implode, take the memes with it, forcing the whole thing to liquidate once everyone just pulls out in panic.

So anon, can you explain why you don't own April TSLA puts?

Follow short sellers like Hindenberg Research, Muddy Waters Research, etc. on twitter and set it up for alerts. When they publish their new hit piece, load up on shorts or puts and close them sometime during that same day. If you're feeling ballsy load up on calls or shares by the end of the day and play the bounce the next day. For example, when whatever short seller published their short report on EH, it tanked -50% that day, but rebounded 60% the next day. Same thing with SOS, the price got obliterated, but later rebounded. EH, SOS, WKHS, and GME are just some of the few stocks that come to mind when I can think of a stock that fell hard after a short report and rebounded not long after.

i posted this late last night but most of you were probably asleep. i just looking for some feedback:

https://finviz.com/quote.ashx?t=SKT

literally the second most shorted stock on the market. low float, only 91 million total shares. vanguard and blackrock own a combined 30 million shares so actual float is pretty much the same as GME, around 60 million. SKT gained on thursday when rest of market took a shit. when the market faceplanted and REALLY ate shit friday morning it only dipped like 70 cents then bounced up 50 and held above its strong price floor of $16. when you look at the orderbook the sell walls are weak as fuck, only like 100 thousand dollars worth of stock to bust through before getting up to the $20s again. technicals like SMA50, 20 and 100 show uptrend. ridiculously massive volume the last week. like 70 million and 90 million in one day, when avg volume is less than 5 million. oh yeah the stock pays divvies and has actual fundamental support at its current price, it owns assets like premium real estate and generates rental revenue which will come back as corona recovers (proof from 2020 Q3 earnings). even if businesses go bankrupt SKT will still get rent because creditors will pay as the businesses who lease restructure or sell assets and if not they will get replaced by something else. literally is anyone else seeing SKT as a good swing this week or possibly a GME style memetic short squeeze explosion? relatively low risk and seems like a good upside and coronarecovery play anyway. the fact it seems to be a fairly safe long term hold plus dividends plus the possibility of short term massive price surge from short squeeze viral buy ins kind of make it attractive desu. well thats my DD on this, just wondering if anyone else noticed it. what you guys think?

thats the obvious answer, the problem is that only a mathematician would know the formula for how many times you need to test each machine (you tested it a 100 times) to be both sure you know its % win, and not be wasteful. It is theoretically possible that 55% machine returns you only 50/100 wins on your test run and makes you believe it's a 50% machine. How likely is that? Have no idea how to calculate. If that's the way to solve this, it's a stupid puzzle.

That's just changing the original problem formulation entirely, after the fact.

The assumption was "IF ... X% of the time". If that cannot be relied upon with mathematical (programmatic) certainty then it becomes an entirely different class of problem. Slots must certainly obey strict rules regarding their uncertainty, no? The machines are sealed and regulated much like a weighing station.

Oh wait, this is dumb. The question isnt saying that
>a machine has 45% of winning
but that a machine is literally programmed to win 45/100. It's not random.

That's a moronic concept. And it's written wrong. since it doesnt say 50/100, it says 50%. This would then mean that if i run the 50% machine twice, it literally has to win once and lose once.
But if I went with that, I'd get the reply
>NNOOO, you have to do it 100 times, it doesn't work twice
which means the writer of the question is a moron.

So it wouldn't matter which machine you picked because then who's to say that 1000 spins or even more would indicate which one has the best odds? It doesn't matter what the fucking odds are in that case.
Those machines are worse than roulette and if you go to a casino and go straight to the slots you're a fucking retard and probably a faggot.

Assuming the rates are absolute and without any margin of error, I'd place 20 bets on each, which is the minimum number necessary to get whole number result for wins at each rate. For example, 20 x 0.45 = 9, 20 x 0.5 = 10, 20 x 0.55 = 11.

I'd then dump the remaining 9,940 bets on whichever machine won 11 times.

If the rates change, I'd re-run the test at whatever interval at which the rates change and adjust the number of bets in each test based on the increment of change. If a rate could change at 0.01, then I'd increase the number of test bets to 100 per machine.

Is it something stupid like betting 20 times would give you the result of any machine? 20 is the lowest number to give the % result correctly for 9, 10, or 11. If that is the case then all you need is to bet 20 times each on two machines to find which is 55% and go all in on that.
I don't think that is the answer because probability doesn't really work like that but I can't think how to reach it.

If that is the case, then I'd place the minimum number of bets necessary to differentiate between the 3 machines. A simple one-way ANOVA power analysis will tell you how many bets to place.

We have 3 groups (machines)
Effect size of 0.05 (since that's the minimum difference we need to detect between any 2 machines)
Alpha (p-value) of 0.05 (i.e., 5% chance we say two machines differ when they really don't
Power of 0.8, which is standard (i.e., 20% chance we say two machines do not differ when they really do).

The results of that power analysis suggest we'd need to place 1,286 bets on each machine to safely determine which machine is which. I'm sure it would be fewer than that, though, given that we know the machine differ, so type 1 and type 2 errors are irrelevant.
