Can you guys explain to me why this board doesn't like BTC.

It's the biggest coin, has the most investors, and has gone up 5x in the past 6 months.

Bitcoin is valuable? AHAAHHHHH
You hope that it is used more in the future, but... utility makes the value...
No one use bitcoin for utility... because it is public at its core and always will be...

1 stable coin will always be equal to 1, now this is utility...
Now everyone uses monero...criminals have always been ahead in terms of adoption
Monero is the future, and is worth 1000x more than bitcoin do you understand now?
Market value always lagged
Do you understand the meaning of all that?

This isn't a board of patient investors, they're greedy impulsive speculators and gamblers. They want to 10x and 100x in months and years time and chase the peripheral crypto pumps, they don't want to set and forget in bitcoin and weather the rises and falls.

The longer you hang around here, the more you start to realize the cycle of people who come to biz.

When a good crypto comes out, you'll see it shilled to no end along with the actual pnd scam coins.
Next, said good crypto will take on a life of it's own with high quality memes and threads as people invest and explore its possibilities.

Then, you'll see the crypto have an initial pump. Maybe like 10x-20x. This pump will bring the attention to a max.

After the initial pump, you'll start seeing the FUD come up. Sometimes it's valid weaknesses being pointed out, but mostly it's people trying to bring the price down because they missed out on the initial pump.

The next part of the cycle is the pump that makes the initial holders very wealthy. They hold on to the crypto but they start becoming less vocal about it because why would you if you've already made it.
At this point, these cryptos have multi billion dollar market caps and are beyond the point where anything said on /biz/ can affect them.
So you'll see less and less said about them and even big movement in price doesn't really do much to stir up a conversation at this point.

The people who bought BTC or ETH when they were still new have so much money that they don't need to be glued to /biz/ every day in hopes of finding a way to make it.
They may come on every once in a while to gloat, but that's it.

LINK is just one big pump shy of joining the other big coins in that it would take someone seling their home to buy even half a make it stack.

TL:DR Excitement about BTC isn't as high anymore because it's in the big leagues, and the people who have a lot of BTC don't post here anymore because they've already made it.

>Not their keys, not their coins.

That's not how it works.

1. Your coins are blacklisted for "suspicious activity"

2. You're not aware of this.

3. You send your coins to your usual exchange to trade/cash out/whatever

4. Your coins are frozen and seized the moment they touch the exchange.

5. You now have to prove they are not the proceeds of shady dealings or forfeit the lot.

TL;DR: the government doesn't need to directly seize your Bitcoin, it just needs to bully others to do it for them under threat of regulatory action.

Pic related.

I suppose you have to provide evidence of legal acquisition. Same shit has been happening to people using CoinJoin, just the fact you're mixing makes you seem suspicious and they'll freeze your coins until the matter is settled. Pic related.

>Also when will coinbase add support for monero?

Probably when the regulatory environment is more favorable, they're still antsy about Monero's untraceability.

>Also how is Monero less tracable? Can you not view the transactions made on the blockchain like BTC or ETH?

No. You can only see that A transaction has taken place but you can't know anything about the sender, receiver or amount.

>How is Monero’s privacy different from other coins?

Monero uses three different privacy technologies: ring signatures, ring confidential transactions (ringCT), and stealth addresses. These hide the sender, amount, and receiver in the transaction, respectively. All transactions on the network are private by mandate; there is no way to accidentally send a transparent transaction. This feature is exclusive to Monero. You do not need to trust anyone else with your privacy.
