I'm not sure I understand your question.
An OTM call is worth nothing. On the other hand, people can usually execute their OTM calls at a loss in order to force the purchase of shares from the market maker but most brokers have blocked the execution of OTM calls.

That's right, but in this case of $800 strike price (and especially on weeklies), it is pretty much the whales thinking that. The only time when the last weeklies could've been sold for more was possibly during the quick 50->200 rise, and even then I'm not sure.

Basically they're so deep OTM, there's extremely small chance of profitting from these at all unless we actually squeeze, that's why the fact these exist in the first place is seen as bullish.

>I started off with 1 assumption. That GME had 0% SI. No one was shorting it, not by one share. I had to make this assumption as we have no idea what the actually SI is. So it might as well be 0 right?
>With this I have used the daily shorted volume data from 12th Feb-March 4th. As I understand it this data is not a complete picture of all market activity, but it's large enough to form a good statistically probability.
honestly,
>Starting from 0 I summed the Shorted Volume (181m) and subtracted that total from the Total Volume(316m). This gives us 134m shares that were exchanged over this period that was not shorted. My next assumption is that the HF 100% covered this shares over the same period. Again we have no way of knowing if they have or not so we might as well assume the 100% covered. This gives us 46M shorts that they could not cover within this period, assuming 100% coverage. This results in a 85.28% SI over the last couple of weeks alone.
>Now if they covered 50% of these new positions we would have 166.47% SI and if 20% then 266.36% SI.
>source of the data. https://www.shortvolumes.com/
The only thing that I see that could be wrong is the source.
And as all the other data we have available it does seem this one is weird.
>Read this: https://blog.otcmarkets.com/2018/11/13/understanding-short-sale-activity/
>much of the "short" volume is not actually entities shorting but side effects of some market mechanics. e.g.
>You send your broker a sell order of 30 shares. Your broker is trying to get you the best price and speed they can. Turns out it's faster by 30 microseconds if they borrow those shares on their books and sell those. Then they give you that money and put your shares back in to that other account. In many cases this all happens in seconds or less but it goes on the books as a short sale
>This is just one example
it's a good sign at least though

What the fuck is wrong with this place? I've been visiting these generals for a week now and so far I have:
1. Had my life threatened by someone claiming to be an ex-Navy Seal
2. Been told in multiple paragraphs that I will never have ovaries or be a woman
3. Been called Rabbi more times than I can count

Every time I try to get a genuine response from any of you people when I address what I have been told about the short squeeze, I'm either called an n-word or k*ke, and am then told to "dilate", "glow" or "seethe".

Can we please just have a normal thread where we can talk about gamestop without racist slurs and the weird terminology?! What the hell is a sneed anyway?

Look, all this tells us is a lot of trades are involving shorted stock. Over 50% shorted volume doesn’t definitively mean more overall short interest is being added, it just means that more trades are being made with newly borrowed stocks rather than actual people selling their Long position. Swing traders do this a lot, even on shit like AAPL.
Say we take a look at 3 transactions.
>A borrows a stock, sells it to B (1 short volume, 1 total volume)
>C borrows a stock, sells it to A (2 short volume, 2 total volume)
>B sells his stock to C (2 short volume, 3 regular volume)
Now at the end of these 3 trades, everyone ends up in a net 0 position. But 2/3 of the volume was shorted stock. So you could go over 50% short volume but still not have overall short interest increase.
That being said, these trades are wash trades, basically it’s just empty volume. Which if this is what is happening, this dried up volume that we are seeing is even more barren than we thought, and it’s even more difficult for any outstanding short positions to be able to cover without shooting up the price.

I don't think some are understanding the magnitude of what is happening here. Just about every country in the world entered into an agreement which in effect enabled a few/group of individuals to value a countries currency, devalue, set inflation rates et al.

If these countries take back their central banks there would be no need for devaluation, interest payments. In essence a country could print as much money as they want. Whether that is a fiat currency, gold backed currency, or bt coin. The entire system of money is an illusion based on usury. This is the practice of lending money and charging an interest rate for loaning that money.
Some people became greedy and decided that they would charge greater interest rates dependent on a persons credit score. That still was not enough for them so they went after the banks in a country, and proceeded to control their money, inflation, et al.

I care not who writes the law so long as I can control a nations wealth.

I will say that 1k is pretty much FUD though, it could easily get to that level on hype or a gamma squeeze. A short squeeze would definitely go higher than that.

Personally I'm going to drop 10 of my shares at 1000 and then gradually sell as we go up from there to about 15k. If it is really skyrocketing I might hold off and go higher, but I don't want to miss my chance and be left holding bags.

I don't think everybody will sell at 7 million a share so it can go higher.
I had made a quick calculation where I came to 10-100 million per share, considering a sale of 70 million shares. The concern here is that there are more than 100% of shares outstanding...
Positive point: I don't think institutions will sell their shares (they buy over the long term). There are also retails who will not sell (or not all).
In short, it might as well not go above 10 million as it would reach 1 billion. The best is to sell gradually, especially since the government will print money.

I use to run a course in which there was an exercise in what do you need vs what do you want. At the end of the course, each individual evaluates what they would need in order to live and how much they would need.
It was amazing how low the figures came in. There is always the ones that wish to be greedy, but at the end of the day, when everything was added up, I think many would be surprised even with todays prices how little they would require.

For the most part, this whole GME situation is an anomaly in an of itself. We might get 1K, we might get 100K, we might even see 10 million. We don't know for sure, because nothing like this with this exact same coincidences and conditions has happened before.

Yeah. GME is like a mix of VW (stock shorted over 100% of float) and TSLA (the shorts could see the squeeze coming in advance unlike VW on which porsche's announcement that decimated the float happened overnight), with a few gamma squeezes mixed into it and a sprinkle of kike rigging on top.
