This is why while altcoins as a whole will always be around, none of them have long-term staying power. Bitcoin rules the market, and there's nothing that will cause that to change. Bitcoin has all the money, and all the power. People pushing altcoins by definition have no power.
Treat altcoins as they are, temporary toys or experiments to make more Bitcoin. Trading against dollars gives you a false sense of security, when alts trend down against Bitcoin long term. Ethereum is the only altcoin thats managed to get a grasp on anything, and that's the first in well over a decade. In a hundred years we might have <10 long term altcoins, but even that is optimistic.
