Big problem for WoW classic was it was WAY EASIER than Nostralius and Reddit drama ruined nearly every guild. Hell my guild on fairbanks kicked me after one of the power hungry guild leaders (who was a fucking woman) found my history of trolling and hating on commies and g kicked me. Despite the fact I was an essential member who had Hand of Rag among other nearly impossible to get gear. Honestly I am glad cuz I am done wasting my life. Now I just play on Private servers casually.

Started on Herod, played pretty hard during classic launch. Quit after how easy MC/Ony were. Just too much effort to prepare/get ready just to nuke the content in an hour.

Recently started playing again on Sulfuras, horde/ally ratio is 55:45 which is actually solid. High pop too. Herod dropped to 62-38 which is dogshit for a pvp server (med pop too).

Yep. the first couple of months were awesome and for me recaptured some of the fun of Vanilla. Everyone being a noob again leveling up together was super fun. I could tell it was going down hill as PVP honor was about to be released and so I quit on a high note, and from what I read it turned into a complete shitshow after that. Might play TBC again at launch for the same reason.

Quit completely because of the implied costs of gaming all day and not paying attention to markets and actually helping myself. Also, just thought I'd add, streaming is a huge meme and only like 1% of them (if that) make a liveable wage. I'd regularly be playing with top streamers (in retail and classic, I was in 2 top 10 worldwide classic raiding guilds lol), so I got a huge bump that way, and it felt like fighting over pennies or table scraps. People only give money to the richest streamers.... Like, I 1v2'd pikaboo and xaryu on stream in a 2s match, completely fucking obliterated them, and then someone donated like $500 to xaryu for "the effort in a tough loss". It's a fucking joke

Private servers are unironically more fun because they quite often jack up the difficulty of bosses. Like, BT and Sunwell on warmane was fun as fuck because the bosses all had twice as much health and did twice as much damage for all their mechanics. The warmane servers are really well done and refined, but they're also pretty jewy and have a cash shop (which really only benefits you if you suck because they release the gear 2 tiers behind what profession is at). But in terms of stability, performance, etc, it was unironically better ran than blizz's own classic servers. The quality of players on private servers also tends to be way way higher, like almost no one sucks

Theyre leaving the bosses in their un-nerfed forms. You can play retail and if you have half a brain can play the AH for free time, takes almost zero effort. It costs 140k gold for a wow token right now, which is 1 month, and I can go use old profs to make 20k in a day, with about 15 mins crafting.

There will always be someone many multiples more lazy than you whos willing to buy that effort off you for real money. I paid once to start my account back up and havent given those kikes a dime since.
