It's 22% on crypto capital gains for most people. If you do things that could be considered business-like in terms of scope and activity, you might be forced to pay 50% however. Seem really up to interpretation though, so it's hard to tell where the line is drawn. I think if you do large-scale mining, for instance, you would likely fall under that category. I've been in crypto since 2013 and had a year where I made more than 25M NOK on crypto and paid 22% on the gains. I can assure you, it does not increase just because you make a lot. The only reason you might end up paying close to 50% is if you're considered "næringsdrivende". This is the case with mining if the scale and scope is large enough.

It's very inconsistent. I don't trade bear markets really, so in those years I might just have a couple hundred entries in my trade logs. In these markets though I trade a ton and my CSV files from exchanges have many thousand entries.

I actually lived in France when I started crypto in 2017, made like 10k euros from 500, lost it all again because I'm stupid.
Never declared shit to the French. Probably lost all my transaction logs anyway, some of them were on shit exchanges like cryptopia that went under, so unrecoverable.

But I came back to live here in January 2020, and bought back into crypto in October, so who cares about what I did in France.
For now my logs are maybe filled with a dozen or so buys and sells.

My bank, DNB, have let me cash out throughout the years without issues until the end of last year when I started cashing out larger amounts, at which point they wanted details about the origins of the money. I sent them a ton of shit to prove it's all from trading crypto and nothing shady, and for now they seem to be fine with it. My stock broker (Nordnet) is being a bit of a bitch though, so the KYC with them is still ongoing.

The most important part is that they have never rejected withdrawals nor frozen my accounts at any point though.

Yep, wealth tax has become quite significant for me and can't be ignored. I usually calculate how much I'm going to have to pay a bit before EOY so that I can realize losses and whatnot, if possible, to lower the gains, and then at the start of the new year I cash out what I need for taxes, including wealth tax.

Of course, this all leads to a bit of a loop where realizing gains to pay taxes leads to more taxes, which again call for more realizing, and so on. Ultimately it goes down, but it's pretty fucking annoying, to be honest.
