>>30270148
Thanks that makes sense. ButI was more thrown off because I received most of that BNT APR within the first hour of staking, then it's trickling in. See pic related, this is after 2 days of first staking.

>> No.30270440

>>30270336
look if u were getting 75% APR on average over the span of a year (rewards + fees) with 1800 bnt starting stack then you should have received a total of 1300 BNT in returns that year. accounting for the incremental rewards for the first month, and the cost of staking once. If you would restake every 121 days instead you would have gained a net of 1500 BNT in returns that year, including the removal of the equivalent cost in bnt/eth of restaking 3 times that year.

>> No.30270695

>>30270440
thanks for running the numbers, I’ve ran 4 and 8 week restakes:
Every 4 weeks = 36% more bnt in 1 year (13 extra gas fees)
Every 8 weeks = 26% more bnt in 1 year (6 extra gas fees)
3 times per year = 13% more bnt in 1 year (3 extra gas fees)

>> No.30270715

>>30270440
Makes sense. I was just wondering why I had 1.4 BNT in swap fees within the very first hour of staking. That would have been more like a 40% APR for swap fees, not .02% as the other anon said. As of now it's trickling in more like .02%, so it was that first jump that didn't make sense in the math. Maybe some initial staking bonus or something.

yeah, actually my calculation just accounts for restaking your entire stack, which is probably not as efficient as restaking smaller batches as they come in. (Since the previous batches multiplier doesn't get reset.)

I wouldn't. Even if the peg was closer to 1:1 I don't think I would be leveraging on another project. BNT has too much going for it to risk large portions of my stack.

Someone PLEASE explain the bonus completely. How do I view it? If I restake in the same pool or other pools does it rest the bonus on all pools? How do I tag along restakes to existing stake bonuses? What is the best strategy for restaking?

>> No.30295110

>>30294498
Restaking rewards into any pool does not reset the multiplier. Extracting your stake from one pool to put in another does.
You cannot view the multiplier in the ui , but it’s 1.25 after a week, then 1.5, then 1.75, then 2.
They are working on the ui and will be changing this so that’s clearer.
Best strategy? Honestly I don’t know. I plan to stay in the link pool

Well, I jumped the gun and did that today for like $50 in eth. Now I don't have enough eth to stake my new BNT, and I live in a cucked state so it takes 7 days for my new Eth purchase to clear in the exchange before sending. If I want to convert back to vBNT it's more gas, and possible loss because the price fluctuates between the two, so I'd be losing like $100 in BNT in the convert back. So I should probably stake to make it worth it once I get ETH cleared from the exchange. It's risky but could be worth it. Some guys say it's worth it but others say you should wait.

Shoot, I need vBNT to stay lower because the more it goes up the harder it is to switch my loaned BNT back to vBNT, I keep refreshing and can see I'll get sometimes much less vBNT back, which I need to unstake eventually. Stuff is complex but I'm learning good lessons.

>> No.30297923

When you stake BNT you get vBNT 1:1. You need 1 vBNT to unlock your 1 staked BNT in return. That's simple enough.

The peg (current conversion rate) is ~.65 meaning vBNT has a $ value of .65 of the value of BNT. If you want to spend vBNT (leverage) then it's less efficient than exchanging BNT directly.

The peg is going to correct over the next few months since they are voting on the vBNT burn right now. It's a static burn that should return vBNT to closer to .85 or .9 of BNT. So, you can buy whatever you want with vBNT now but you need it to not only outperform BNT but BNT + the peg correction (30%) to be worth it.

That means that if you leverage vBNT now for more BNT, you are committing to the platform longterm (don't know the numbers, but let's say 1+ year) because you will have some amount of BNT that you CAN'T unlock without more outside funds. On a long enough timeline you should earn enough rewards/fees from bancor to unlock everything but when that will be is hard to tell.

I am not leveraging vBNT right now, in fact the opposite, I am buying vBNT. If you leverage your whole vBNT stack to get more BNT to stake, then you can fucking wreck yourself by locking BNT in the platform permanently. Awesome for everyone else but not so awesome for you.

I was shopping in a grocery store in Tel Aviv getting snacks for my weekly drive to Mecca three days ago and I saw Ghalia Benartzi. I thought no way that could be her, but I checked my phone and it definitely was. I told her how cool it was to meet her in person and how much I loved Bancor, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother her and ask her for photos or anything. She said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but she kept cutting me off and going “My bancies are stanky! My bancies are stanky!” while rubbing her hands together and slouching over. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard her chuckle as I walked off. I went up front to pay for my groceries and looked to my right, I saw her trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in her hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Ma'am, you need to pay for those first.” At first she kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When the cashier took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, she stopped her and told her to scan only one of them and stake it “to get sweet 1500% apy gains,” while fumbling through her pocket grabbing a Bancor logo sticker and sticking it directly on the the scanner. While the cashier was trying to pick the sticker off, Ghalia turned around and winked at me. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, she kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Bancor is seeming pretty shady right about now.

I wonder if the issue is pools won't be able to be ported over. So you'd have to withdraw in order to restake under arbitrum. Which wouldn't be worthwhile.

I finally got my BTC from the stupid BTC ATM, story above (I live in a cucked state). Converted to Eth and kept refreshing until the swap from BNT to vBNT was in my favor, I now have 65 more BNT than when I started due to the difference in price. This is odd but a welcome surprise. I'm not going to mess with that stuff again.

the bancor chat rooms are going to be a shit show in coming weeks. the guide video about the vortex taught all the apes that it was free lverage with no interest. when peg restores they all get slashed for 30-40% of their BNT and its perma stuck in the network.

busllish as hell for bnt but they will raise fud storms.

suicide: 150

That's so scary. And to be clear, let's say I'm staking 3000 BNT, I need at least 3000 vBNT to unstake right? Even though the vBNT is technically worth less, the unstaking is a 1:1?

Does it make sense to unstake my BNT and exchange it for vBNT? It seems dirt cheap right now. I lose a bit on IL but still...

>> No.30312581

>>30311904

Bro everyone knows there is no such thing as leverage free risk. BNT gets stuck in the protocol puts upward pressure on price and those who get blown out scramble to buy more bnt to swap for vbnt only the leveraged retards lose.

If you just been staking you win.

If I have 1800 BNT currently staked and have 2000 vBNT in my Metamask wallet, I will be able to unstake later safely right? I don't want to try leveraging again. Sorry for the beginner questions.

>> No.30312763

>>30312713

I think its one to one. As long as you have 1800 vBNT you can unlock the stake later.

Be careful man it is an awesome tool to leverage but you can be burned hard if swing goes against you.

>> No.30312831

>>30312437
It makes sense if you think the peg will be closer to 1:1 sometime in the future compared to now...the vBNT burn being implemented, and perhaps additional functionality that is in the works for vBNT could be catalysts to bring the ratio much closer to 1:1

>> No.30312869

Why do you have 200 more vBNT than what you would have gotten from staking? You only have an issue if you have sold any vBNT.

This morning I had converted my vBNT I received from staking into BNT. Then I freaked out and didn't want to leverage that anymore so I kept refreshing the swapper all day until the difference was like .59 instead of up at .65. So when I swapped back to vBNT I have more than I started. I could be a nice loophole but I'm not messing with it again.

Not really rebranding, they're working on an UI overhaul, features to make trading easier (limit orders, in-house charting tool, general quality of life features). Also the backend is getting an upgrade so new useful data feeds likely coming our way.
