I dont see much reason to buy gold miners compared to silver mines.

Silvers have retard-tier premiums which kill profit, and silver miners have disproportional gains in stock value (2.5x more than physical for major miners, 5x more for some jrs) when silver sport raises so its easy and way more liquid than physical.

Gold miners on the other hand gain the same % in value as physical gold, so there no real advantage. Gold premiums are like 2-3% tops vs likely 1% youll pay from stockbrokers and are just as liquid since everyone accepts them at 99-100% spot price, also capital gains tax exempt for britbongs.

Id rather just have the shiny shit in hand.

reposting my goldback math for those curious:

even though I'm suspicious of the whole enterprise, it's a brilliant idea and very simple to measure on the milli scale:
0.001 oz = 1 goldback
0.005 = 5
0.010 = 10
0.025 = 25
0.050 = 50

I wish that was made much more clear, with minimal text. would love to use them as real currency when the time is right. a lot of the language on the bills is unnecessarily confusing, like calling them "coins" and being "for circulation in utah."

I see it as a spiritual successor to norfed, only less scummy because it's not an outright pyramid scheme. the premiums are definitely crazy

a full set is 0.091 oz troy, spot is 1,695.70
bullion value for a set is 154.3087
I paid $350 for a set and wallet ($30 retail price)

minus $30 for the wallet, that's a 107.376% premium for a set
remember that actual solid numismatic gold like a $2.50 indian head may carry premiums only 70%

tl;dr it's a ripoff

I'm glad I bought 1 single original set to complement the $10 face value norfed dollars (I paid 90.959% over spot and don't consider it a ripoff at all, considering the guy got v& and it was a pyramid scheme so they melted down most $10's to resell them as $20's). that's my completed edgy alt-money collection done. now I can chill out, stack cash, and focus on finding real gold for the deepest discounts.

anon you're calculating the value and premium in gold, but goldbacks don't trade for that cost. they have an inherent premium. for example, 1GB has $1.7 worth of gold in it
BUT if you were to use it as payment for something, 1GB can purchase ~$3.06 worth of goods right now. the actual value of a goldback is calculated by: $1.1 + (spot / 1000) * 1.155
you paid $350 for a set of 91GB; 1GB is worth ~$3.06 right now, so you bought ~$278.46 worth of goldbacks for $350; a 25.7% premium

>>30251633
oh me?
I said
>yeah I think the best way is to have a business where you accept them. We need people who like the idea but don't know math very well to reach a critical point. Once we reach that critical point it doesn't matter what the price of a GB is; 1GB = 1/1000ozt gold. A bushel of apples will cost 2GB, a fancy dinner at a restaurant will be 10GB and so on.

Share your best gold or silver stocks.

Medusa Mining (MML:ASX)
A$100m in cash- Market cap $170m
No debt
100k oz/pa production at $1300 AISC.
3.5 years of reserves.
Investing US$40m for more reserves and lowering costs.
Paying 12% yield at the current price.

Kingrose Mining (KRM:ASX)
Market cap is backed with 100% cash.
No debt.
Has a gold mill.
Has tons of hot exploration ground.
Has new management that have been very successful in previous exploration and corporate ventures.

Newcrest Mining (NCM:ASX).
It is simply comfy as fuck with 50m oz reserves and 110m in resources.
Also produces a lot of copper which is very complimentary (copper up / gold down, gold up / copper down).
1.8% yield fully franked.
Next to no debt with over a billion in cash, $19bn market cap.
Will literally never stop pumping out gold forever, it has so much.
This is a default buy for all of your cash reserves. Don't ever hold cash, hold NCM instead as a cash substitute.

Other suggestions have been:
Centerra Gold (Canada)
$800k oz p.a at US$800 AISC.
$3bn market cap with $500m in cash.
Looks comfy, is extending mine life.

Jaxon Mining
Don't know, but it was mentioned.

>goldbacks don't trade for that cost. they have an inherent premium
maybe if there was any information about the actual production cost, I'd pay attention to what you're trying to say. as it stands, the ruthless and infallible math tells me that the only way they could possibly gain value is in a freegold scenario where the spot price of gold is fairly valued (current estimates suggest $5k to $10k per oz).

you can try and bamboozle me with fancy science talk about "muh vacuum-deposited dust on a polymer substrate" but you have to understand that I do PhD-level molecular biology work for fun in my spare time. it's like trying to tell me that covid tests are accurate because they use PCR technology. been there done that. it's literally just DNA extract, oligo primers, enzymes, nucleotides, in water in a glorified microwave.

its not the same as paying paper gold ETF.
stocks actually have physical gold. in fact you can get access to more physical gold through a gold mining company than you would just buying the physical product.
there is way more leverage in owning the miners compared to owning the physical, and you dont give up ownership over the metal itself.

sure if you want absolute minimum then yeah $1+spot/1000 but keep in mind every gold piece has a premium too, especially for something as fractional as 1/1000oz, so thats where they add the 5%. then they add another 10% completely out of nowhere. But businesses that sign with the company are required to accept them at at least the current daily value on the website

the only thing I have thats radioactive is my vials of Thorium, but it's very minimally so. the Tellurium, which mind you is nearly as rare as gold is also hardly toxic. I'm betting big on solar, what can I say. https://pastebin.com/vWS9qbPw

FedEx won't even come through my gate to the door, just honk and drive off quick if I'm not out there in milliseconds. Apparently negroid FedEx drivers are afraid of geese and turkeys. I told the nog that showed up the second day (after me watching like a hawk ALL day until after 8pm when he finally showed) that they were attack geese.
I hate my local FedEx nog drivers. One of them left a case of ammo 3' off the edge of the road, and very busy county artery. It was evidently too much to walk another 20' to leave it by the gate. It would have been gone in minutes had I not just happened to be outside. Niggers.

Other rounds are good too as they're cheaper per oz and some are highly recognized as well.

Don't you have to have the tools to heat silver to the appropriate temperature, and subsequently cool?
From what I read about milkspotting, there's a decent risk that these hand minted coins would spot easily. Perhaps I am just an idiot and that is hopefully not the case.

I bought from them about a month ago, and I just got the 5toz-ers this week. The CoA states that they were refined by Asahi and minted by Sunshine. The premium is a bit steep right now (~$10/toz) and the time to get the order out the door and shipped seemed like an eternity, but if you're set on getting directly from a miner it's not too bad. Shipping is via UPS expedited, so take that into account as well.

Howcome most of the anons here focus on stacking silver? Gold is easier to hide, denser and lighter store of wealth. $10k worth of gold is alot easier to shove in a pocket and run than $10k worth of silver, and gold is pure beauty.

See people with massive silver stacks of large industrial bars or many 1kg bars and wonder why you wouldn't just trade up. I just keep 40 oz ASE and the rest is consistently just stacking gold when I have money.

Appreciate the thought but I really don't want to try any others, can find silver for way cheaper than ASEs but I still buy them because I would hate to look at my stack otherwise. If you ever see those videos of gold / silver vaults stacked up so perfectly, imagine if they decided to just get a bunch of random sized bars, coins, gold statues and misc. items and put them in the vault. It would look disgusting.

Silver has a smaller market cap than gold, yet they correlate somewhat closely. As was made obvious with GME it’s easy to move small markets. TPTB want to keep gold low so that the $ looks strong, so they manipulate silver and keep it as cheep as possible while profiting on strategically timed short sales.

More or less same shit as buying PMs, funny enough.

1) Buy from reputable websites. All my purchases are from these three sites:

1999.co.jp/eng
amiami.com
nippon-yasan.com
https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/?lang=en - Best place I've found to buy used or second hand figurines. Very reputable, most of their figs are autistically graded to japanese standards (i.e. "Damaged box" and it's literally just a crease somewhere).

Never had a problem. All ship from Japan

2) Bootlegs absolutely exist for most of the popular figs, so need to be on the lookout if you're buying private or on Ebay. Not an issue if you order from the sites above.

Bootlegs are usually found pretty quickly and posted to myfigurecollection.com page.

3) Preorders can take anywhere from a few months to 18-24 months depending on the project, manufacturer etc. Shipping can be costly if you use EMS (1 week or so for delivery) versus SAL (comes in a boat, lucky to get it in 6 weeks to 3 months). EMS has been suspended due to chink flu though.

The extruding would be the tricky part. Beyond that it’s simple tumbling and pressing. The melt process wouldn’t even be necessary if you had a pure bar to start with. I’m not saying it’s as easy as buying bread and eggs at the grocery store, but it isn’t rocket science. Anyway, many jewelers use extruders to shape metal when forming a piece of jewelry. The equipment is esoteric and rare.

When are we gonna do a /pmg/ meet up? I say we take a trip to British Columbia to see Pan man and look for slumach’s lost mine. In the meantime we can war game making a mint and pressing our own coins.
