I dont see much reason to buy gold miners compared to silver mines.

Silvers have retard-tier premiums which kill profit, and silver miners have disproportional gains in stock value (2.5x more than physical for major miners, 5x more for some jrs) when silver sport raises so its easy and way more liquid than physical.

Gold miners on the other hand gain the same % in value as physical gold, so there no real advantage. Gold premiums are like 2-3% tops vs likely 1% youll pay from stockbrokers and are just as liquid since everyone accepts them at 99-100% spot price, also capital gains tax exempt for britbongs.

Id rather just have the shiny shit in hand.

reposting my goldback math for those curious:

even though I'm suspicious of the whole enterprise, it's a brilliant idea and very simple to measure on the milli scale:
0.001 oz = 1 goldback
0.005 = 5
0.010 = 10
0.025 = 25
0.050 = 50

I wish that was made much more clear, with minimal text. would love to use them as real currency when the time is right. a lot of the language on the bills is unnecessarily confusing, like calling them "coins" and being "for circulation in utah."

I see it as a spiritual successor to norfed, only less scummy because it's not an outright pyramid scheme. the premiums are definitely crazy

a full set is 0.091 oz troy, spot is 1,695.70
bullion value for a set is 154.3087
I paid $350 for a set and wallet ($30 retail price)

minus $30 for the wallet, that's a 107.376% premium for a set
remember that actual solid numismatic gold like a $2.50 indian head may carry premiums only 70%

tl;dr it's a ripoff

I'm glad I bought 1 single original set to complement the $10 face value norfed dollars (I paid 90.959% over spot and don't consider it a ripoff at all, considering the guy got v& and it was a pyramid scheme so they melted down most $10's to resell them as $20's). that's my completed edgy alt-money collection done. now I can chill out, stack cash, and focus on finding real gold for the deepest discounts.

anon you're calculating the value and premium in gold, but goldbacks don't trade for that cost. they have an inherent premium. for example, 1GB has $1.7 worth of gold in it
BUT if you were to use it as payment for something, 1GB can purchase ~$3.06 worth of goods right now. the actual value of a goldback is calculated by: $1.1 + (spot / 1000) * 1.155
you paid $350 for a set of 91GB; 1GB is worth ~$3.06 right now, so you bought ~$278.46 worth of goldbacks for $350; a 25.7% premium

maybe if there was any information about the actual production cost, I'd pay attention to what you're trying to say. as it stands, the ruthless and infallible math tells me that the only way they could possibly gain value is in a freegold scenario where the spot price of gold is fairly valued (current estimates suggest $5k to $10k per oz).

you can try and bamboozle me with fancy science talk about "muh vacuum-deposited dust on a polymer substrate" but you have to understand that I do PhD-level molecular biology work for fun in my spare time. it's like trying to tell me that covid tests are accurate because they use PCR technology. been there done that. it's literally just DNA extract, oligo primers, enzymes, nucleotides, in water in a glorified microwave.

Howcome most of the anons here focus on stacking silver? Gold is easier to hide, denser and lighter store of wealth. $10k worth of gold is alot easier to shove in a pocket and run than $10k worth of silver, and gold is pure beauty.

See people with massive silver stacks of large industrial bars or many 1kg bars and wonder why you wouldn't just trade up. I just keep 40 oz ASE and the rest is consistently just stacking gold when I have money.

Bootlegs are usually found pretty quickly and posted to myfigurecollection.com page.

3) Preorders can take anywhere from a few months to 18-24 months depending on the project, manufacturer etc. Shipping can be costly if you use EMS (1 week or so for delivery) versus SAL (comes in a boat, lucky to get it in 6 weeks to 3 months). EMS has been suspended due to chink flu though.
