I haven't filed my 2020 taxes yet, but I got mail from the Canada Revenue Agency today saying I owe $5500 for 2020. I paid in full for 2019 and I have a statement of account from CRA stating as much. What the fuck is going on here? How can they demand income taxes from me for 2020 when I haven't filed yet and the deadline isn't until April 30th? They don't even know how much money I made in 2020.

I just hire an accountant to do this shit. I emailed him already and I'm going to call him tomorrow to ask him what the fuck. But yeah, still spend way too much time getting all the documents and receipts and shit together.

I think CRA fucked up big, but now I have to try to convince them of that. This is my first time having to dispute the tax man and I'm stressing out. These government people are turbo-cunts who never want to admit they were wrong about anything.

How could it be a scam when it is physical mail that looks identical to every other CRA request for payment I've ever gotten, in the same envelope, and asks me to pay through electronic bill payment via my bank like I normally do? There's no possibility of me sending money to anyone else other than CRA.
