Not fucked long term, but you should have waited to buy. You could sell now and rebuy lower. Good thing gold isn't taxed.

See: >>30033435

Also, I wouldn't buy gold Krugerrands because although there is nothing wrong with them, the lower purity makes them slightly less attractive for regular people to buy. No problem of course when you sell to a dealer.

>> No.30161420

>>30161243
Oh damn it, I forgot if you sell now you lose on the dealer premium you paid... So keep that in mind. Still though even with that taken into consideration you might be better off selling now and rebuying lower, if it hits sub $1600 that is.

Silver Krugerrands I have zero issues with though, they're one of the best silver coins.

Hold on to the silver for sure, and never sell the German coins.

Sell at a loss and buy BTC and ETH. Gold and silver are finished.

I think i will just keep it and dont sell for the next 20 years ?
The gold coins are like 10% of my networth and i only bought them as a assurance against inflation.

It would be stupid to sell them now and buy new gold coins in 4 weeks when the gold price is even lower ....

Why then is such a fuss made over Krugerrands? Why are they a thing and not British Gold Sovereigns? As an example.

>>30160962
You will only see a sharp increase in gold when hyperinflation starts. Dont expect anything exciting before that.
Gold will always rise in value long term against fiat regardless.

They used to be THE gold coin in the 1970s and 1980s. And they where illegal to import for awhile. So people wanted them. If your a boomer then you think they are cool.

>> No.30162193

>>30161637
Yeah, sure, whatever keep the gold. All I was saying is you could probably profit a bit if you sell now and rebuy when it's sub $1600 or sub $1500, but it won't be much of a difference. I really doubt gold goes below $1400.

>>30161640
Because they're very famous / well known, to begin with... as to why, I don't know. But that fame is already established. But they're only 91.7% pure, so when you try to sell them privately some people will be put off by that and think "it isn't pure gold" and not want to buy then, even though that's retarded -- one Krugerrand contains 1 full oz of gold, plus other stuff. So it shouldn't matter, but I assure you some people dislike that it's not 99.9%.

Everbody in Germany buys Krugerrand gold. It´s the most famous and well known gold coin here. What else should we buy Canadian leaf or Kangoroos from Australia, bats from China ?

The other stuff is just copper. Yes you are right they have 1toz gold. They actually weigh a little more then an oz because of the added copper. The alloy makes them hard and durable. They where made for stacking and knocking around as tender. Not for looking shiny in a display case.

>>30162669
They are everywhere because they where the 1st mass produced 1oz coin. In 1980 90% of the gold coins where Krugs.

>What else should we buy Canadian leaf or Kangoroos from Australia,
No one wants those because they have the rat queen on them. Thats why people are still buying krugs today.

dont worry about it, at least you got yours now before its banned. stop treating it like an investment and think of it more like an emergency fund in case hyperinflation happens
