so what happens to the miners if the power goes out

>> No.30119209

>>30119115
The other miners still mine it. If power goes out worldwide, we'll have much more to worry about than bitcoin.

>> No.30119255

The mines will collapse and they will be trapped in there. They might hold out for a few days, but once fresh water runs out, it'll be hell on earth for them.

okay i get that “we’d have much more to worry about” but what would happen? entire network just freeze? i wonder if it could even start back up.

i believe the entire network would freeze. no one would be able to do transactions

seems pretty risky

>> No.30119736

>>30119317
yeah, no transactions processed if miners everywhere lose power. but the blockchain will still be intact and miners will resume when power is restored. if power is never restored, bitcoin is dead and all we have is a memory of it and some hard wallets

nigga if they dont have electricity anywhere in the world (people who have millions invested in this shit with a lot of money on stand by) than be sure (YOU) wont have electricity as well and some fucking blockchain will be least of your problems

do you not use a debit card? or credit? if the power goes out worldwide those will be down too and you will have no way to access your money. other than a bank if they even let you take it out without being able to record it digitally.
