Why do boomers not invest in crypto?

It would be hard not to at least triple your money this year, yet boomers freak out at their stock going up by 10% in a year. Doesn't make sense why not more people get involved in crypto.

Because they fear what they dont understand. And they're too young to take risks on things. Talk to most boomers or even gen xers in my family and they will be spooked by Bitcoin or other cyrpto because they think its too "dangerous" and that it will just disappear and you'll lose all your money. Every time I mention crypto they concern post all over it.

That's a dumb mentality though.

>"It's the gold rush, but i'm not getting involved in mining gold because gold can go to zero"
>"It's the dot com bubble, but I won't buy any domains because I don't understand how the internet works"

Exactly, its dumb. That said, I'm sure that older people were less likely to go to the Gold Rush because they though it was risky (granted back then that meant traveling across the frontier) but yeah older people are most often too stuck in their routine to take risks or what are perceived as risks.

Their jew financial advisors didn't tell them to yet. But actually this week they did, lol. Many banks now are saying you should be at least 1% in btc.
And this guy, certified gigaboomer, reformed crypto fudder, lover of cash and cash accessories, is now 3% in the bit corns.

because they are smart. invest in what you understand
also if you think crypto is investing allow me to ask you to read the definition of the word speculation and reflect on why that is different

Dumb and limiting. Obviously the answer is if you see there is opportunity in something you don't understand to get off your ass and figure it out. There is no advantage to limiting yourself to only the narrow scope of things you understand.

Imagine a boomer who asks you how to use email 17 times KYC certifying and then buying Bitcoin, storing their wallet keys in a safe spot, etc.

Believe it or not they want to but are too scared to learn how.

Canada now has a BTC ETF lmao.

People are unironically too stupid to figure out how to set up a binance account and metamask wallet for low caps.

Yet these same people will crank FOREX with 50x leverage on their 401k's like its kindergarten math.

had a boomer tell me that the bitcoin company will sell you a bitcoin but when you try to sell it back, they won't let you, so your money is gone forever. It's hard to describe just how out of touch 99.9% of boomers are

A huge portion of boomers still refuse to do their banking or pay their bills online.

Does this really surprise you that they don't want to get into bitcoin if they don't even trust or know how to do basic shit like pay their electric bill?

You sound like you are seeking reassurance or validation on your position rather than providing a rebuttal on the question posed.
Boomers don't invest in crypto mainly because they don't need to, they are sufficiently wealthy and at an age where risk taking is disadvantageous.
You are the opposite, you are at an age you can survive a wipeout and investing a quantity that can easily be replaced.

My dad’s 70 and gets physically uncomfortable when I bring up crypto. He’s a good guy in general and has set me up fairly well in life. But for an ex software engineer he’s way too comfortable being an old Luddite now.
