That thinking caused me to not take out a low interest mortgage on a house when they could be had for 220k and instead waited until they were 440k so that I had 20% down (which was increasingly far away) meanwhile I didn't invest in anything for rhe majority of the previous 12 year equities bull run. I should have been leveraged to the gills the whole time I'd be set by now.
I was scared of interest and PMI and so I missed out on huge gains. I saw investing as risky and sat on the sidelines for ages watching everything go up.
