30005181 No.30005181 [Reply] [Original]

Hello gentlemen, I’m an American with Mexican citizenship & I refuse to cough up my crypto gains to feed Jamal & Shaniqua and their nigglets. Is it possible to open a foreign bank account in the Caribbean or some other tax haven as a Mexican national and cash out there? Are there other loopholes other anons know about who have dual citizenship?

I don’t want to renounce it. I just want to know if it’s possible to open an offshore account as a Mexican citizen since it’s hard to find this info online. I wanted to know if other dual citizens have done something similar.

That’s why I’m asking if I can just open a foreign account as a Mexican national. Can’t I just withhold that I’m a US citizen? As long as I have citizenship from another country, Mexico, can’t I just claim that only? I highly doubt the foreign banks will try to dig deeper.

Similar boat here anon. America has some bullshit tax treaty with other counties where they force them to check if you are an american citizen so they can double tax you. I'm european and despite having lived here for most of my life if I make it america is gonna come after half my gains as well as the country I live in. Bullshit

>> No.30005867

>>30005764
I’m aware of FATCA, but if we just withhold that information about us being US citizens and only claim other other citizenship, then wouldn’t we be in the clear? I don’t think they’ll try to launch a full on investigation unless they suspect something initially. I’m pretty sure we can just walk in and say I’m only a Mexican citizen, and leave it at that.

>> No.30005877

>>30005720
They do. Every single bank in europe at least will have a single question specifying if you are or are not an american citizen. They also require id or some form of proof to prove you aren't.

meme aside that sounds like a bad plan and a good way to lock yourself out of your own account, just bite the bullet and pay the taxes. Tax dodging will cost you more than the taxes themselves.

Yeah, I know that. My main question is whether or not I can open a bank account in an offshore Caribbean country like The Cayman Islands or Panama, and only declare that I am a Mexican citizen, and withhold any information about me being a US citizen, and then successfully open a foreign account as a Mexican citizen only.

Mexican Spaniard here, honestly Mexico isn't too bad, they don't know shit about crypto, hiring a good accountant is cheap af and he'll sort you out no problem. There's so many double nationals that he'll even be able to get your dual declarations in order. I'm fucked cause I spend more than 6 months in Spain cause of work, but honestly Mexico is chill with taxes cause of the amount of loopholes if you get someone that knows his way around SAT. Worst comes to worst bribing is possible, but I wouldn't recommend it since it can bite you in the ass if we're talking more than 7 figures.

Forgot to mention America is one of the few countries that taxes expats, BUT you can deduce your tax contributions (to an extent) if you're an expat. Don't renounce your citizenship, it really isn't worth it since it's your one way ticket for a high paying job. If you can get another tier 1 citizenship (for example an EU one) then I'd consider bouncing.

Thanks for the advice. I have been looking into the Portuguese Golden Visa program, and it would grant me access to work & live in the EU. They also don’t tax crypto gains. All I have to do is invest 250k euros in a hedge fund or purchase 350k euros worth of property. As soon as that works out I’m leaving the US for good they can go fuck themselves. The US is a sinking ship.

Portugal is good, but look into Malta as well, iirc it's the cheapest alternative for a golden visa and they might shutdown the window soon. For non-rich Latinos Spain is the fastest pathway to EU citizenship, but since that's not your case I wouldn't bother, Hacienda sucks ass and the fact that they can retroactively punish you (look into the Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi case for example) is the most fucked up shit ever.

>> No.30007594

I’ll be looking into Malta as well and possibly other alternatives if they do end the Malta Golden visa program. Spain may be my last resource, but it’s better than having no options. You’ve been pretty helpful, god bless you anon.

Anytime I can help a paisano. Hoy por tí, mañana por mí. Yeah, that's allegedly the biggest reason he left. Europe is pretty dope imo, I like it better than America but it's an acquired taste, so not for everyone. I'd consider staying here for a while (6 months or so) to see if you like it.
