3) Crypto can either be huge or a bust
3) Stock up on non-perishables now for cheap so you aren't paying out the ass to feed yourself
4) The only people who will survive inflation are those that can adjust costs accordingly. Look for a side gig to sell shit. Me personally I'm hoarding up on free CRT PC monitors to flip (sorry /vr/.)

Supply can't keep up with demand in many markets. If your local market is still seeing quick sales for above asking now, there's little reason to believe that'll stop. Most people are aware that with the start of summer comes extremely hot markets - this is the time most families with move since they don't have to work around school schedules. Interest rates are lower now than they were in 2018 (when I purchased). If you want to buy, do it when you find the property you want, don't wait. Majority of millenials/new home-buyers can't scrape together 20% on the down payment, but you're paying something like $40-70 on PMI. Would you rather own now and also opt to pay off more on your monthly to get that PMI off, or, wait and potentially never have enough saved to match the rising 20% anyway and deal with raising interest rates? I don't envy anyone trying to buy right now. I thought it was fucked in summer of 2018, it's only getting more desperate around here.

I will tell you this, I truly believe that the USD will not exist in 20 years.

I have 50k saved up, and I was talking to my mom about this and all the housing around us (that is cheaper than the $10+ million dollar houses in my town) really only get down to 600k before they become literal crack den tier, because they are still within commuting distance to the city. I really can't do that with my income and we came to the conclusion that the only way that moving out makes any economic sense is if I had a girlfriend and I was sharing the rent with her, otherwise I would be building up zero savings or equity (gets drained away by housing).

I feel awful I haven't talked to a girl in her 20's in 2+ years. Maybe 3 I don't know.

2% interest rate (what economists desire as normal inflattion) compounded annually for 20 years is exactly 50%.
food at 50% makes the cutoff for what is normal - housing well depends if they are talking about rent or not but it's leaning towards an asset bubble in popular areas and well over 50% since 1997.

To further explain... resources and commodity goods (land, oil, grain, sugar, etc) are finite. We can't print more of them on a whim. Their price is "real" - made evermore obvious when money isn't. Most labor (esp cheap un/low skilled) doesn't have this intrinsic value to fall back on. If money gets printed like crazy (as it has been) labor's choice is to keep working or starve. Also, as labor goes up in price automation becomes more viable for employers. You can see why labor prices won't rise as quickly - and even when it does, it's all cyclical b/c >>29982339 (except they're not, they're very smart, and know exactly what they're doing). They keep the general populace running like lab rats on a treadmill - destined to just barely get ahead, or fall off and wallow in the ever-growing gutters of humanity. Eventually fiat will die when people realize the gov't is unironically just using them as half-well taken care of slaves. The future is hopefully some independent uncensorable hard digital asset (btc and eth and possibly a few others) where inflating cbdc's are used to drive spending, but people have an option to preserve and grow wealth through non-corruptible stores of value

If you can only afford a mortgage by yourself, I'd hesitate to purchase because that's a big unknown factor and that's just with any roommate, not specifically a girlfriend. Every guy I know who bought a house ends up selling in 2 years because new girlfriends wants to move anyway (that means you build almost no additional equity and your closing costs were for nothing). You can find a girlfriend and keep saving in the meantime. You owning a house is in no way a prerequisite to dating and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. Most chicks wouldn't move in with you straight away regardless, and who knows where she lives/works/needs to be located. If anything, buying would narrow your search pool. Find a relationship, date for 2 years, then plan long-term together. Don't put yourself in a shitty financial situation thinking it's going to hedge your bets. If you want to move out, find a roommate and rent. None of my friends who move out solo w/o girlfriend or roommate end up doing well mentally or financially.

Having 1 OK roommate but saving money and still being social is a much healthier situation than having 0 roommates and stressing about being house-poor constantly. You'll get there, just keep your romantic aspirations and your finances separate.

The older you get, the more the odds shift in your favor. Working out is great, just keep working on your social skills. Try not to take every piece of advice from other guys and /fit/ as gospel truth. I have short, balding friends who drive old beater civics who have had just as much success (with hot wives) because they're open, fun to be around, and sensible enough. College is a shitshow for dating - I did poorly until I found the right person. Many of my friends male and female lived with parents. You can always paint is as, you're living at home to help out your mother if it comes up instea of "I'm here because I feel stuck". The worst thing you can do is stop socializing. It's limited right now, but get in zoom meet ups and practice. As things open up, be out more. Help people out when they need it. Whatever you can to not stay stuck at home. No one is judging you as harshly as you are. I've said plenty of cringe shit in my day. Nice pic btw. My wife lived with me, in my parents house, on a mattress on the floor until we could afford to rent (with roommates) and then we bought a bedframe with wedding money (that's how little we had). The problem with dating advice around here is it's always more focused on the superficial than it ever needs to be. Do shit because you want to do it. You'll be just fine.

Every poster on /biz/ just wants/desires inflation because they think their asset allocation will do well in that scenario. Truth is it's a lot more complicated than that.

But until we reach hyperinflation that's the way things go. Almost any amount of inflation isn't noticeable in daily life. A few cents more here and there. But it does have a large impact on major purchases like buying a car or house. The fact that places are starting to hit 30% - 50% inflation on basic goods, and housing is over that amount is concerning to say the least. As soon as there's a bread shortage and bread spikes up to $10/loaf the fear will cause hyperinflation to set in.
The reason they're writing articles like the one I posted in the OP is trying to stave off hyperinflation, which is more of a state of mind than anything else. We have enough liquid money in the economy to warrant hyperinflation right now. The only reason we don't actually HAVE it is because people still believe that a dollar is worth a dollar and are still leaving their money in savings, money markets, etc... instead of taking it out to buy things they feel are critically important today and may be out of reach tomorrow.

Yes, this is correct. There's a reason a former autist like me used to despise small talk and found nothing then to fill the silence with into someone who can find anything to shoot the shit over. I'm still more introverted than most my friends but I'm far more capable of meeting people and holding their attention than before. Because I socialize more, and am more open about who I am, the less I care if I'm not someone's preference. The less defeated or tired I feel when I'm out. I'm willing to meet people half way whereas before if I didn't meet people who matched my exact interests, I would feel instantly disconnected. None of my closest friends watch anime or play DOTA, but that's not why I like them or vice versa.

>I don't like having to self censor all the time so talking in public is just not a fun time for me.
You don't need to. There's a reason liberal chicks end up banging conservatives at bars - they like that someone can push their buttons and rile them up without insulting or provoking them. They're getting entertainment without feeling threatened. Don't insult them, ask questions that lead to your side rather than make statements like you're trying to win a debate. Make it fun, not work. Tap out if the other person is engaging less and less. Don't think you need them to "be on your side", because you don't have to be on there's to have a good time. You'll also get funnier as you go because you'll learn to read the room. My humor is not shared even 70% with my friends but we like each other's company more than we like sending shitty memes to each other.

Just have energy, even if it's low, even if you can only fake it for half an hour to start. Don't be a dead fish.

The demand for liquidity was huge in march so bitcoin went down with everything (remember gold also crashed with everything as well).
> The outbreak of the pandemic resulted in a liquidity crisis that was different from the credit crisis experienced in the Global Financial Crisis (GFC). Market volatility increased sharply, and market liquidity deteriorated significantly, including in markets traditionally seen as liquid and low risk. As many countries moved into lockdown to contain the pandemic, issuers, banks, and investors concentrated their actions on reducing their risk exposure and preserving their liquidity. The COVID-19 outbreak was an extreme stress event that demonstrated the effectiveness of the many improvements to financial resilience made over the past decade and highlighted areas that require attention.

Over 4,000hrs and still shit. Going to bars alone won't work, but if you get invited out, go. Otherwise, try welding classes, cooking classes, any class that you're going to be in a group of unknown people, starting on the same foot, and with something automatically in common to talk about. Don't need to focus just on finding a girl. The more your social circle is open the more girls you're potentially going to meet by proxy and you'll be practicing socializing along the way.

>But I thought pictures of men not smiling and not looking into the camera do much better on dating apps than pictures of men who smile?
Yeah, if you want to match with girls who like to get beat maybe. Over the age of 21, you want your first impression to be your capable of being happy and you're not afraid of having your picture taken. You wanna be caught in a moment in the outside world having fun if you can find a photo like that. Don't get hung up on metrics, you're not a normie and you probably won't like normie girls. More shit like the quality of the photo, the tone/perceived height in the photo, what they're wearing is probably why those guys get more matches vs something as simple as "they weren't smiling". My buddy met a fantastic girl on OKCupid of all places too...don't get stuck on one site.

Since no one has given you an actual answer, the (oversimplified) mainstream view is that producers tend to produce more of high demand products whose price increases (faster) relative to other products, on the whole this should increase the accessibility of high demand goods assuming that wages are also increasing.
Consider the alternative if the price of an apple was the same or decreasing relative to other good then producers would be incentivized to shift their inputs (land, labour, capital, etc.) towards producing others things like pears instead as part of the efficient resource allocation of the free market.
Of course the whole situation isn't that simplified and there are real problems, namely that so called core goods (food, housing) seem to have been inflating faster than median wages for a while and it's only those unimportant goods (consumer electronics, clothes, etc.) that are deflating or inflating slower than wages and becoming more affordable.

I don't think so. If they wanted to hide inflation, they would have adjusted the chart so as not to have such a massive spike in May. I can't believe that they are so incompetent as not to do that. My guess is that they expect the liquidity issues to get so bad that banks are going to allow unlimited fund transfers from savings and money-markets that those previously restricted accounts act more like checking accounts instead, so there's no reason to hide anything and the money is those accounts essentially becomes liquid. Again, no idea why they wouldn't adjust the chart, though... Maybe they're trying to scare us into hyperinflation?

Billionaires don't give a fuck, they have so many assets that they could easily escape long before it gets to that.

inflation is only coming once people are fully (((vaccinated))) and (((covid))) is over. Then the money will flood the market again, first with people overspending on stupid shit (but also things like real estate), only then will the prices of basic necessities rise. Crypto will NOT be negativelly affected unless there is a complete breakdown of the system, which will not happen. Why would the big dogs let that happen? They have a fully domesticated population right now, with boomers left powerless and minorities/zoomers ready to win the (((popular vote))) for at least 40 years forward.

There will be inflation, yes, but nothing catastrophic. Buy as much in assets as you can right now
