I hope this does not sound too autismo but I have a question regarding finance.

My girlfriend of three years has been offered, by her parents, a down-payment and co-sign of a $700,000 or less property. She has asked that I contribute my savings, roughly $15,000, and pay rent once I start working full time. This property is to be considered solely hers and if we broke up I would not be entitled to any refund of monies spent. My girlfriend also plans on quitting work once I enter the job force.

I have an undergraduate degree and am currently in my second of three years studying law at a mid-tier university, have average marks, and no job experience. I do, however, have an inheritance of $100,000 that I am going to receive next month. My girlfriend knows that I am going to receive an inheritance but my family has specifically asked me not to mention how much it will be, so I haven't.

My question is this... Should I contribute the $100,000 and ask for partial ownership of the property or should I place the money into an index fund?

Depending on your national laws, you could buy in, stay in the relationship a certain time (2 years mostly) then break up and take half her shit.

Also sign a contract so she has to buy you out, girls will dump people over anything, and if she gets paid 15k to dump you, she fucking will

Yeahhh, on the face of it I can lose my full $15K if the relationship fails tomorrow but if it lasts another two years, I have guaranteed accommodation, and do not have to stress about working whilst studying.

What sort of things should I place my money into? I know very little about finance, haha. It is honestly really embarrassing how little I know. My only reason for wanting to contribute the $100K is that it would make the interest on the total loan lower over the duration of the 30 year period.

She has paid rent for the last two years and essentially funded my lifestyle.

I hope this is LARP because that's a terrible deal. You might as well hand her your manhood because you're not in control of that relationship

Put the 115k into something stable, then once you get a job you can have a good deposit on your own house and easily pay the mortgage

The 15k is whatever,
Don't give her the 100k unless you want to fight her in court when you break up.

Put the 100k in an ETF, I recommend Vanguard US Market but you really can't go wrong with any region's stock market ETF.

I recommend you put 10k in DOT as well and 10 years from now you may be extremely rich.
