thats not at how it works at all. it's for querying information about the Ethereum blockchain. and queries aren't supposed to cost 1 entire GRT. it's an ERC20 token with 18 deciminals you don't need to send a whole one at once. due to gas fees I imagine applications that use it will preload their accounts with a certain amount of GRT and spend it offchain as they submit queries
