It really makes sense. Charles is all about keeping the focus of ADA on its core values and not how its going to be making people a shitload of money. Talking about payment systems puts focus back onto that which he doesn't watch. Watch some of his videos.

The IOHK mission is about letting the disruption happen naturally as a consequence of what is built.

He doesn't care about mentioning it, he hates price speculation. Im sure he knows he mentions it the price will blow out faster than a rentboys sphincter. He'd avoid that at all costs and let it develop naturally.
