NEO is like a share. It can't be divided so it is not going to be a primary currency.

GAS is going to be NEO's currency. Used to pay for Network fee's etc. Also it will be used for ICO's.

Holding NEO slowly will generate GAS over 22 years until it hits its market cap. Every year in that 22 years the amount of of GAS generated will decline. So about 60% of GAS will be generated in the first 5 years.
