All depends on what you want to do, but the general consensus on this board is that The Intelligent Investor and Securities Analysis are a great way to get started.

Intelligent Investor is the staple of investing books. It's a bit dry and long but it's a really good book for getting you into the right mindset. I'm halfway through reading One up on Wall Street and gotta say it's an awesome book. Lynch makes it interesting and has a no nonsense approach. He says how he's made mistakes, missed opportunities, and invested wisely and it made him one of the most successful investors of all time. His mutual fund averaged 30% returns for over 10 years, unbelievable.

>The Intelligent Investor and Securities Analysis
One Up on Wall Street is a more modern version of fundamental analysis, from one of the best mutual fund managers ever, Peter Lynch.

But going back to the basics of Graham is good.

With fundamental analysis, as long as you learn to read a balance sheet and know about business, you can do OK.

For technical analysis it is math and computer heavy. Go for a Masters or Doctorate to learn it really well.
