There's two issues with it
1) older men being more desirable is more about wealth than anything else. Control for that, and the imbalance probably mostly goes away. For example, if you're a patrick bateman style yuppie who's rick in his 20s. The only caveat IMO is that a typical woman will always prefer a man who's at least her age or older. But that's not really important, because of the next point
2) when we (men) think about attractiveness from women, there's really only one category of women we care about: young women in their 20s. So naturally, the opinion of women in their 20s is the only one we actually care about. But that's not what the graph is saying. It's showing the opinion of women in general. All those old catladies and divorcees are having their opinions included too, and they're naturally going to prefer men at least their age, which fucks with the metrics.
