Yikes still none of the retards could answer you. For every option, there is a buyer and seller of the contract. Hedgefunds did not buy $800 calls (which would give them the option to buy for $800 a share, they SOLD $800 calls (which gives them the obligation to sell shares for $800 a share if the option buyer so chooses). When option sellers end up with their sold options ITM, they must own the stock to deliver the shares @ Friday @ around 9:30pm eastern. So if the price keeps rising quicker, millions of shares will have to be bought to cover sold calls that were unironically sold betting GME wouldn't rise
