The Sobriety Token is a crypto-currency that is backed by the user's sobriety. The more sober you are, the more tokens you have. The tokens cannot be traded or given to others unless the user's sobriety is third party verified. For instance, a person can get a certificate from their Wednesday night AA meetings saying they've been sober for at least 6 months and then have their coins verified at a crypto-currency exchange like Bitstamp. Anybody can verify the sobriety of any other user in exchange for Sobriety Tokens.

It lives on the Ethereum blockchain and is built on its own proprietary proof-of-sobriety consensus algorithm called Proof-of-Mends, or PoM. The PoM algorithm calculates sobriety based on the status of individuals who have taken an anonymous online survey. The online survey has been validated against the DSM 5 & CBAE (CAGE) surveys which are considered to be standard clinical protocols for substance use disorder and addiction monitoring in the USA and Canada, respectively.

I like the sentiment but you seem to not know what the fuck you're talking about. AA is an honor based system but theres no fucking verification involved when announcing one's sobriety. You could be sober for 2 days and walk up and get an 18 month chip and nobody would bat an eye. Nobody hands out certificates at AA, aside from maybe signing your court proof of attendance slip for your DUI.
