The liquidity provider fee is the reward given for taking on the risk of providing liquidity. Liquidity providers are necessary so people don't get ripped off for having to buy FTM at $0.90 while Binance sells 1 FTM for $0.65. This is why people have been complaining about wFTM / fUSD not reflecting FTM / USD very well. Arbitragers also fulfill a similar role, and I assume their absence is the reason for a weird exchange rate.

Look at it this way. I have 100 FTM. A 300% c-ratio allows me to take a loan of 33 FTM. Even if FTM drops 50% overnight, I have another 66 FTM to cover my loan, would use 33 in this case.

Better education would be better, yes. AAVE and GRT explain loaning, staking, the risks of both, and have better metrics to compare. do you know why it was the two biggest nodes that shutdown? Because they were the biggest nodes, fantom anounced they didn't like the amount of centralization and shut down the two nodes. because the two nodes were so big this triggered a failsafe that shut down almost everything
