Fellow Batbro here. I've been curious about why Brandon Eich decided to go with a Chrome fork as the basis for the browser, instead of redesigning from scratch. I think I know the answer, but as with everything, I like to question my logic. I believe it's because he saw in it a product that was complete, save the features and fixes they wanted at Brave. Is anyone else wondering what the legal ramifications might be in the future? I'm sure they worked it all out, and are justifiably not concerned, I just want clarity on how it's legal to do this?

Using Chrome is an anti-google trojan horse. Google has been caught intentionally sabotaging competing browser's performance on their websites like Youtube for which they received basically zero punishment. Piggybacking off of Chrome and de-googling it is simply the most cost effective way to have a great browser that Google can't leverage their influence against.

I've made roughly 0.5 BAT from 3 days of browsing a bit. Seems to work fine as far as earning is concerned. What I'm curious about is how I'm actually supposed to give myself the coins.

>Google can't leverage their influence against.
>no leverage
google can call Eichen a homophobe and then ban Brave from their app store and face zero repercussions for it

It's not a matter of if, but when. I think they're going to wait until it's too late

By the time that happens the linux-based BraveOS will be rolling out on Brave's new mobile phone, the Brapple

What do you guys think will be the event that triggers an explosion in price? Right now I feel like there are a lot of people hoarding BAT like dragons, waiting for this event.

Google being sued as a monopoly is a long time coming. People are fed up with big tech. If they remove competition that way, they might just make it happen.
