They're tolerant of a wide range of temperature/salinity. But their peak metabolism and food intake is at around 65F. Just get some 300 gallon stock tanks, a recirculating pump, some large aquarium heaters, a protein skimmer, and you're set. They aren't picky eaters, and will readily eat dry fish-food. Juveniles enjoy frozen blood worms.

I just pulled a stock google photo for the op. The crabs in that pic have their tails flipped underneath them, and a catheter placed in between the segments. Its not ideal, and leaves them prone to infection.

My oldest are 8-10 yeas old when wild caught, and have spent 18-24 months in captivity. I attribute their longevity to the saltwater well I use. (My facility is a stone's throw from the ocean). Okay everyone no larping here, I have experience with these as well. They come up on the beach at night, sometimes you see small ones riding the back of big ones (mating) and often times the waves can knock them over. If they cant get upright with their tails, the seagulls est them alive in the morning and their empty shells litter the beach. They are harmless, I show my friends and put my fingers in their pincers all the time. Such a cool animal, and yes the blue blood thing is real. Some of them get HUGE they move as slow as a turtle and have eyes on top just like the pokemon Kabuto, like identical.
