Do you all genuinely believe in GRT? Looks like an over-glorified JSON parser to me. I dont think you can economically scale a large application using GRT, considering you're essentially paying for both updating and querying data, not to mention that its significantly slower than a traditional server and you're paying for on a per-request basis (a lot more expensive i would assume). I can see it being used in very specialized or small applications but if a genuine large org truly wanted to mitigate centralization/singe end-point, etc. threats, they would benefit much more from a second/distributed server than they would from GRT. I think its only advantage is indexing blockchain/decentralized data, but even then, a more cost-effective solution can be implemented.

Not trolling, just my 2 cents. The price will deffo rise (at least in the short-term) but I personally think its overhyped.

Bro they were saying that apy was gonna raise till 2024, and now they’re saying it’s gonna be lowering because they’re releasing coins too fast.

I almost believed in the coin but then I started actually reading into their white papers and there’s too many euphemisms that basically just describe that they want a fucking stable coin.

This. Algo might be the worst coin ive ever seen. You are making the devs rich. They will eventually dump their bags and its game fucking over.

>> No.29635828

>>29635716
it's depressing because if you research it there are literally no holes in the project, except for the fact that they quite literally force the coin to stay low cost by dumping more into circulation as it hits certain price points, so bizarre

>> No.29635843

>>29635639
Right. And whos releasing the coins? Yep the devs are.
They don't give a fuck about apy for the plebs, they are making themselves rich and every dump they do keeps the lie going.

>> No.29636029

>>29635843
They’ve got enough people who FOMO’d in at $1.50+ to make them permanent bag holders for years or sell for a massive loss while collecting gains that are equal to a savings account because of the price dumps. MIT genius at work.

>> No.29636133

>>29635828
In theory this means that early adopters can passively gain coins and Once all coins are released those early adopters will have been incentivized to keep the coin afloat and relevant for years.
The reality
>devs own 80% of algo and also get apy.
>APY is decreasing, doesnt matter for them but it does for joe hodler.
>they are gods over the price due to owning 80%, even in 2030 when all the coins are out and algo is presumably worth something, they can tank the price instantly.
Its a bad joke.

>> No.29636270

>>29635498
Howdy pardner. Assuming this isn't LINK pasta. This is a dev tool/service, this is not simply some kind of data-access tool. It indexes and creates datastores that otherwise do not exist. If you are building a dApp, you are not also going to reinvent this wheel. The query costs are very low compared to hiring people to run and manage something comparable

Using it for what? Decentralized flappy bird? Paying on a per-request basis is only cost effective for very small or very specialized applications.

>>29636270
Its good when it comes to "indexing and creat[ing] datastores" for data on blockchains. Nothing else.

>>29636338
> Series A funding for Alooma was ~15 million USD.
Now the acquisition price hasn't been disclosed but even if they payed three times that, they would still be spending less than they would on GRT. Imagine how much MORE they'd have to pay if they had to pay on a per-request basis, especially at fluctuating token prices.
